On the adding your kids part, I mentioned to that to my guide - she did say they can currently add kids to ALL of your contracts at the same time for about $500. But, to @Brian Noble's point, if I added one kid to half and the other kid to the other half, that would create two separate memberships. I'm not planning to do any of that right now - we'll see once they are grown and on their own where we go with that.

And, since I already have 2 150-point contracts, those contracts should be grandfathered in for purposes of direct member benefits. Whatever size I keep the others shouldn't have any effect on that.

Where I've landed is 6 50-pt contracts. It just seems like it is the path that gives me the maximum amount of flexibility with pretty little downside (other than more upfront doc fees). Easy to divide between 2 kids, easy to downsize if I want to down the road. And, I've given the green light to my guide and confirmed it will not affect incentives.

I did a quick little spreadsheet using the site sponsor's maximum list price as the selling price and subtracted out the $250 doc fee and $150 ROFR fee. Six 50-pt contracts is just the clear winner. And, it seems to me, you're probably more likely to get somewhere close to their maximum list price on smaller contracts. Is there ever a time where, on average, larger point contracts sold for more per point than smaller point contracts? And, of course, they sell faster too. I suppose RIV and resale restrictions are a newer animal and, maybe things could get flipped on their head with 75 or 100 point contracts starting to sell faster and/or for more per point, but all we have to go on is past data and, to me, that suggests the smaller the better for ease of resale.

Thanks all for your input - really appreciate it.

Let Disney know that the "Aren't these studios just lovely? As beautiful as they are if we open this door right here you will get even more space to relax and enjoy more family time while doing laundry instead of trekking to the 4th floor to check if a washer is free. Here is the dotted line just sign to add more points" trick still works!! :)

Enjoy the points. I know you will get great use out of them!

Thank you! And, you are so right. I remember the first time I seriously took a look at the DVC website - was looking at spending $25k-$30k on 150 points. I was like, hmm, that's really not that much, let's go check it out. Then, every step along the way there is something to help convince you go one step further. Fast forward, and look where I am now!

Welp. Guide sent everything in and whoever does the next level of processing the paperwork said it can't be more than 4 contracts. She just wasn't aware of that limitation. No big deal - I mean, I was really going back and forth on what the right approach was and it isn't that big of a difference. So, going for my plan B of 2 100-pt contracts and 2 50-pt contracts. When I did my spreadsheet I mentioned above assuming I sold all of them at the top of the site sponsor's recommended list price, doing this vs. 4 75-pt contracts was only a difference of $200. And, I sort of like having a bit of flexibility to choose whether to excise a 50-pt or a 100-pt contract as opposed to only be able to pick a 75-pt one.

This way if you have to amputate a contract it is still an even number for those of us with OCD lol

I thought I saw in another thread that your kids are 4 and 6. How could they be added to the contracts now? Or was your guide just talking in general that they can add (adult) children if you wanted?

That is correct - I was asking what the process was like when they were adults. I was mostly trying to get a sense for whether, if I break my points purchase up into more contracts, am I looking at another potential fee if I add their names down the road (i.e., is it going to be $X/contract or can you have it done to all your contracts for the same fee). Obviously, that could change down the road, so I'm not counting on it or anything, just wanted to get a sense of things.
