Rise of the Resitance is most overrated ride in Orlando

They dont even do star wars music in the background to get you in the vibe.
Yes, they do. I haven't been on the ride in awhile, but off the top of my head they play Kylo Ren's theme, Scherzo for X-wings, and the Battle of Yavin theme.
I like star wars ip. I dont like guardians of the galaxy ip. This is a fairly common view.
...Is it, though? Guardians of the Galaxy, and the MCU in general, are pretty popular!

Hyperspace Mountain? Sorta counts.

EDIT: on second thought not sure if they've done the overlay at WDW

Ahhh, okay. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something, but I guess I am 😂

EDIT: Maybe this is what OP had in mind when he said he wanted a more thrilling ride that plays the Star Wars theme. In which case, lobbying for the Hyperspace Mountain overlay to come to WDW seems like a better strategy than complaining about Rise. 😉

Sure you would - you'd miss all the people being in line for it instead of gumming up the walkways.

Maybe, but they are in the walkways anyway since it's shut down so often. :)

I could be wrong, but I kind of feel like when WDW tries to reduce crowds by expanding, they draw more people in wanting to check out all the new stuff.

But are they expanding to reduce crowds? Or are they actually expanding to increase sales / profits?

Oh, profit, for sure. I guess I worded it that way because people have posted on here about WDW needing another park to absorb the crowds. But, I feel like it would draw more people in.

“The food at this place is terrible.”
“Yes. And such small portions!”
I love the food at disneyworld. Stunned by how much i enjoy the restaurants with a great combo of theming and great food. Small portions usually means better quality.

I meant iconic star wars music. And if it is played it isnt very loud.

Guardians of galaxy is ok as an ip. But it aint the elite of marvel and it aint star wars.

The Battle of Yavin ending, aka right before the Death Star blows up, is not iconic? It’s blaring during the escape pod drop.

Also, if you don’t like it that’s fine, but Guardians IS elite of the MCU. The success of those movies is the reason James Gunn was brought on to lead DC’s cinematic universe going forward.

And I argue this as someone who HATES the Guardians ride because it makes me sick. I’m GLAD I can go on Rise over and over and over.

If we are counting Star Wars Rides outside WDW there is also Hyperspace Mountain in Disneyland Paris. It's not the same as the other Hyperspace Mountain overlays as the underlying ride, DLP's version of Space Mountain, is a more intense Intamin coaster with inversions.

I have never been more disapointed in a ride.

There is almost zero thrill factor except that one tiny drop. The ride vehicle is really dull. Remys was even more fun and thats pretty disapointing as well. At times it feels like you are on a slow moving tea cups ride.

The sets are big but mostly static. Very little movement. They arent game changing. Feel like some screens as background could of brought some life to it.

Nothing on old star wars. Kylo ren just isnt interesting. Why oh why is there no original characters.

Ive done it twice now. Zero interest in ever doing it again. It was just a boring ride.

Why does this get so much praise? I cant be the only one confused by this?

The guardians of the galaxy roller coaster ride should have been the e ticket stars wars ride. How amazing would have that been.
I’d agree with you, but then we’d both be wrong.

You know I have to slightly agree with OP. I wouldn't call it over rated, but I would say its not as amazing as some say. It was pretty amazing the first time I rode it, but the more and more that I did, I agreed, there really is no thrill to it.

I found myself wanting to ride it less and less.

The ride itself is an amazing achievement and hopefully in the future, they put just a little more thrill in the next type of ride like that

If you’re looking for rollercoasters I suggest Busch Gardens, SeaWorld or Universal.

I'm sort of with you OP. The first time was really cool because of the immersion. But once you've seen it, it's kind of meh, at least for me. I think part of the problem is I'm not really much of a fan of anything outside of the original trilogy and some of the books. So most of the content they use for the rides just doesn't do it for me. I love walking through the actual land though.

I mean, fair. You like what you like. I do think the sequel trilogy's sleeker, more futuristic aesthetic is a better match with the cutting-edge technology on this attraction, though. It just ups the "wow" factor.
