RIP Tours Available now!

I can't wait again it's just too much fun.

I need to see about the Unmasking this year to do both tours too.

So we received this long, very detailed email once we purchased the tour. My husband, who booked it, said we only need to take that email with us. Is that true? (I know we need the letter to enter some "security area" it says, but what about just getting in before the tour?

They won't send us actual tickets or anything?

the email you received is your confirmation for the unmasking the horror tour.
your order number, is on that email.
no tickets involved with UMH tours.

your name will be on the list for the tour/s you signed up for.

you go to the lobby of Vip tours building which is near guest services inside the park.
you sign in and then go to the vip lounge upstairs at the time the TM's tell you.

that is all.
take the email with you if you choose, it is not an issue if you don't.

you do have to have a park ticket in order to get inside the park.

It's actually for the RIP, if that makes any difference?

moremouse, if you are talking about the rip evening tour, same set up.
meet at the vip lounge, sign in.

you will be directed to go upstairs to the lounge when they tell you to.

all will receive a lanyard once you are in a group.
light stick also which you wear around your neck.

no tickets are sent to you for the evening tour, just the email.
if you are a couple going, your email will specify how many in your group.

I'm excited for all of you! I'm not going this year ....but will eagerly be anticipating next years event. I would not have know about the UMH or RIP tours if it hadn't been for you folks on this site....so thank you! I'm doing a cruise and Disney this year. I usually include HHN in my Disney trip but I want to plan an Universal stay onsite with HHN for next year. I've actually not done Universal in the past when I did do HHN. Just not that interested. But...since I haven't been to Universal in many years I thought I'd just do it all up right! Keep us posted on your experience this year....dying to hear more! (Que: Sinister laughing can be heard in the background!)

The VIP is worth it B/c the year i went, was the year with The Usher. The lines were ridiculous. The shortest time we waited was 45 mins. The longest was for Saw at 2 hours.

I just wanted to clarify that an admission ticket is needed for RIP tours but not for Unmasking the Horror Tours. UHT you meet at the VIP check in in front of the fountain near Guest Services outside of the park.

i'm glad you posted that.
i've done the UMH tours so much, not something i thought of mentioning, so glad you did.

after the day tour, if you don't have a park ticket, you are escorted out of the park.
it's done in a nice way...

So... If I plan on getting the Express Pass, I really don't need an RIP ticket, right? And what exactly is the difference between the 2? I was under the impression that with the Express Pass you moved to the front of the line. And why do I even need an Express Pass if I'm staying onsite at the Hard Rock? During the day my room key gets me to the front of the line. Why doesn't this apply to HHNs?

Im so confused

the hotels and parks are owned by separate companies.
the hotels give the free express pass to the hotel guests.

hhn is a hard ticket event and hotel express passes are not valid then.
this is stated on the HHN website.

the RIP is a paid tour.
if you book this tour, your guide will escort you through the houses as a group for each of the 9 houses and set rows for the bill and teds show.
if you do a tour, you do not need to purchase an express pass for that night.

The express pass only shortens your wait time as much as half the posted stand by time. RIP tours get Front of the line. You are Guaranteed all 9 Houses, Bill and Ted , plus 2 park attractions as part of the tour.

EP can be much less than half the time.

Last year the Myers house regular queue was at 90 minutes.......we waited 10 minutes in Express queue. Same with other houses.........longest we waited one night was just under 20 minutes......queue was 140 minutes or so on that one.

That is awesome you waited so little time for the houses. Was that on a Saturday? Does anyone know if the RIP lanyards get you EP if you want to re enter a house?

It was amazing how little you wait when you see the huge queues for the houses..........

We went 5 or 6 nights last year, I honestly can't remember exact nights but I think 20 minutes was the longest we waited any night. I really don't want to wait any longer than that.

But the latest we were in was around 11pm as we could go so often we didn't have to hang around till the end.

Just booked our non-private RIP tour 10/7/16. I was told that all 9 houses are included plus seats at Bill and Teds and then the tour is over, two rides at the end of the tour is no longer being offered as there are 9 houses this year. We enjoyed the two rides at the end, as we just walked right up to the loading area, but I would rather see all 9 houses if those are my choices. The lanyard is still good for the Express pass line for the participating rides when our tour is over.
