Mr Culp was quite the actor, did A LOT of TV and movies over his years.

When Rick and I first met, W of Oz was coming on and I said, let's watch this.....

He said "Cool, I've never seen it" I was like, "WHAT" I couldn't believe it!! He had me convince he had never seen Wizard of Oz. I was ready to call his mama!!

Sounds like I need to call John's mama too!!!

I am ashamed to say, I have seen designing women, but never saw all of the wizard, just parts here and there. Just could never sit through the whole thing, it was so stupid, and I just couldn't handle it.

I thought I was the only person in the world who hates that movie. I've seen bits when I was a kid and the whole movie once as an adult and I hate it. I keep forgetting (blocking it from my mind more like it) that it is the last part of the Great Movie Ride at DH.

Allan Melvin, a popular character actor whose credits include "The Brady Bunch", "The Phil Silvers Show" and "Magilla Gorilla" died Thursday in Brentwood. He was 84.

Allan Melvin, a character actor best known for playing Sam the Butcher on "The Brady Bunch," has died. He was 84.

Melvin died of cancer Thursday at his home in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles, said Amalia Melvin, his wife of 64 years.
