From playing Mike “Meathead” Stivic on All in the Family to acting and directing in some of the most iconic films of the last few decades, what a legacy on film he leaves behind. RIP.

Indeed, he directed so many excellent movies. And in so many different genres; he wasn't a one-trick pony. A very sad loss. And I'm not familiar with his wife, but very sad about her, too.

BTW, I get that the police don't know much yet, so they can't answer a lot of questions at this point, but they need to assign someone to press conferences who doesn't get irritated as easily as that LAPD deputy chief. I hope they get someone else for tomorrow's press conferences.

It appears it was their son, Nick, who had drug addiction/homeless addictions. What a sad situation for the remaining 2 siblings.

just a couple of weeks ago dh and I watched the new spinal tap move and I remarked how I missed seeing rob reiner as a performer and I hoped he might consider doing a bit more in future years. I'm so sorry he will never have the opportunity.

How indescribably tragic and awful, to think of your own child killing you and another sibling finding them. I can’t comprehend the horror they must have gone through. RIP to both of them.

My late father passed away 47 years ago, while watching his favorite TV people, Meathead, Archie and family. Marie's dad, my late father-in-law, used to refer to me as Meathead.

Reiner's catalog of work is legendary, classic. I always enjoyed watching him in a non-acting environment when on talk/discussion shows, a very smart individual. He will be sorely, sadly missed.

So sad, I gasped out loud when I saw the headline last night. Stand by Me and When Harry Met Sally are two of my favorites of all time. Stand by Me has always felt more sad since River, and now it will be even more so.
