soo I've been facing my fear of roller coasters step by step, and I was wondering if you guys think Im ready for rip ride rockit

some of the thrill rides I absolutely loved were:

tower of terror
rockn roller coaster
cheetah hunt
everest
splash mountain
jurassic park

you get the idea..

Rip RIde Rockit isn't as intense as rock'n roller coaster. It doesn't go upside down. Saying that, it can be shaky so you'd be well served to sit at the front.

RRR is not too bad of a coaster if you can get past the first lift. 12 seconds (I count it out every time :D ) I just figure I could endure 12 seconds of anything...12 seconds of a dentists's drill? sure! 12 seconds of my kids screeching at each other? no worries! 12 seconds of torture? Bring on the water boarding!

I know, I'm crazy, but that's my coping mechanism :)

Although others have said, go for as close to the front row as you can get for a smoother ride.

Yeah .... RRR seems to get to people who don't like those long, slow climbs to the big drop. If that's not your issue, then I expect it will be fine. It's just a fast coaster, not a super intimidating one. And yes ... front is better. Much better. That ride gets a tail whip effect.

if you can do cheetah hunt and rock'n roller coaster, you can definitely do rip ride rocket! it's only got one loop, which doesn't even go fully upside down -- it twists at the top. the scariest part is the climb directly up, and after that it's a joyride. just be sure to sit close to the front, as others have said!

The first time we rode it we were detained for just a second by a TM who asked my Wife to secure her hat deeper into her pocket. In that brief moment the couple behind us pushed past. Joke was on them because at the boarding station they were put in the last row and we were put in the front row of the next car.

I must count slower than you, I always get to 13........lol.......

It iss agood coaster and would agree with you Kivara, as near the front as possible isn't as bumpy.......we ask for the front row every time........

And you absolutely don't go upside down......not even close.

I think the last row is best!

:thumbsup2 Same with Hulk. I like being in the back, the launch is better when you feel like you're being pulled and more air time overall. RRR is only intimidating because of the lift hill. It looks a lot taller from the ground but it's really not that bad. Really fun coaster you should definitely try it if you like the others.

Absolutely! I think hulk is smoother in the back also.

What about the drop? I love Rock-n-Roller Coaster, can do Everest if I'm sitting in the middle or front, and actually used to like Tower of Terror, which I now skip because I don't like that feeling in my stomach anymore. I want to try The Mummy as well, but I'm nervous about the drops in there too, even though I love Space Mountain. Am I just being a big 'ol chicken?

I think Mummy is a great ride! You don't go upside down, but there are some quick stops. It's as much a story ride as it is a coaster. Unfortunately I find it's over too quickly haha.

Thank you for your replies! I rode it today and I had a lot of fun! I loved the coaster and yes, it was a bit more intense than anything I have ridden but it was nothing I couldn't manage. It was really an amazing experience and maybe next time I might try Hulk or Dragon Challenge:)

Try both!

I'm scared of Hulk and Dragon (and Doom and Pteranodon Flyers LOL) but RRR is good. The "big" drop isn't all that terrifying, and if you can handle RnRC you can handle RRR.

The Mummy is terrific and you should ride it. :)

(As for TOT, I find that breathing OUT slowly but with force helps with that stomach feeling. It's sort of what screaming does (exhaling forcefully), but without the throat pain afterward. :))

That's exactly how I got over my fear of that dropping sensation........instead of being petrified and holding my breath as we dropped, I was told to breathe out gently.......not easy when you're terrified.......but it works.......

After that I adored drops.......the bigger the better.........but I do scream........:D

Mummy just has some banked curves at speed. Nothing too super bad. I think the Dragon is tamer than the Hulk. Both are more intense than Rip Rocket

That vertical climb is the only reason i won't ride it. I hate heights but love coasters and if they launch you uphill quickly, like the Hulk, I love them!

Thanks everyone for helping to ease my mind a little. I guess it's like ripping off a bandaid, and if tamaravane can do it, then I guess I can do it too. :thumbsup2

The Mummy isn't a very intense roller coaster. Don't wuss out and skip it. It's my favorite!

You actually made me laugh with this. :rotfl:

So I actually do this! But instead of breathing out SLOWLY, it's more like I suck in as much breath as I can, and then at the last minute I let it all out as a scream (exhaling very forcefully). It doesn't really help me as much as it used too. Before I had my daughter I could get on anything, and then I got on this really crazy ride at Hersheypark in PA a few years ago and thought I was going to die. I was shocked that my body was acting the way it was! After that I've been too scared to try anything else remotely close to that.
