Ooh great news about the tests That's a strange line option though, didn't expect that - wonder if this will make lines even longer

The separate line is -- SUPPOSEDLY -- going in so Citywalk guests can ride it AFTER the park closes.

Think about it. The ride is rich with many illuminated objects. The cars have lights. The rings up the lift will have lights. It's a ride MADE for night rides, yet USF closes before the sun sets on many nights. That is when Citywalk begins to show signs of life.

Then again, all of this is speculation until it actually happens.

Ahh that does sounds pretty cool, though I don't think I've ever stayed in US after dark, I always seem to leave early when I go. Either way I hope it's up and running by September at least!!

I'm going to USF/IOA in first week of August and I really hope the ride is ready to go. It seems like they need just to clean up there landscaping areas around the ride and put up that big "PLAY" sign on the lift/drop hill.

I will be completely surprised and disappointed if this ride isn't open by August 1st.

That's an interesting idea but I don't see how it could work beyond the testing phase. I mean...the people from CityWalk wouldn't have to pay anything to ride it and those people who are still in line when the park closes or those who are going to HHN or any other after hours functions would have to pay to get into the park to ride it. I can't imagine Universal charging the CityWalk people to ride that one ride and nothing else. Does that make sense?

I was at the park yesterday to catch the TNA PPV. While waiting in line, I watched them test the ride multiple times with people on it (not full cars).

One of the workers that I spoke with said that Universal plans to have a separate entrance for the ride in the future as well, so that you can pay to only use the RRR ride (in addition to park guests) and not enter the park (for those potentially visiting Hard Rock Cafe, etc.)

The ride looks cool, but I don't know if I would make it past the initial straight up climb.

well, it sounds like an ideal thing but i don't know how the TM's will be able to determine who stays in the park and who doesn't after the ride is over.

like Metro posted, during HHN, the ride (at some year) will be going on.

don't know how universal will handle those riders that come in the separate line from city walk just to ride the ride and then usher them back out to city walk. same thing for other times in the park.

City Walk riders sounds like a logistical nitemare. Could work if handled properly I guess. ( if helps bottom line, they'll figger it out! )

To me that would be unfare to the people that buy tickets to go into the parks.They are not cheap.Now all you gotta do is pay for parking,enter CW for free and pay a nominal fee too ride a coaster.I dont get it..Why buy a ticket at all then to the parks when you can just buy a ticket like at your county fair to ride the coaster!!

Maybe you might have to have a valid park ticket for that day to ride it after hours? That would make more sense...

I would have like to seen Queen on the list too.. just not "Another one Bites the Dust".. I like that song.. but not on that ride.... My mind would start thinking of the movie Final Destination

Yeah. The song list is pretty lame. So far, I've only seen one song that I would use. IMO, they dont have any good Rock & Roll songs.

I wish they would have added some 80's Soft Rock (And a few Hair Bands aswell) to the list. I was hoping to ride it listening to Quiet Riot's "Come on feel the noise."

i totally agree with you.

the reason most of us buy the AP is for unlimited park entrance.
it would be kind of twisted to charge the AP holder to do a ride when they don't pay to get into the park each time they go.

special events are different. i see that too.

without having been done to universal this year yet, i can't figure out how the exit to the ride will be.
where it will empty out to.

wouldn't they have to increase security to make sure all riders leave the park once their ride is over?
can you imagine the headaches it would cause if a ride guest wandered off somewhere in the park when it was closed..

near me is the Six Flags Great America.
they do the late coasters special nights for pass holders.
they do 4 nights a season and call it the great coaster ride after dark.

it is for a 2 hour time period once the park closes.
you have an arm band to show you can be there.

they rope off an area where we have to walk thru.
and, lots of security to enforce no one leaves that roped off walk way path.

Citywalk already has an upcharge attraction -- the small carousel. The Citywalk entrance -- if it ever materializes -- would be a big draw after the Blue Man and Hard Rock Live shows let out.

This isn't just a $7 a la coaster ride. It's also the chance to sell a $20 customized DVD after the ride. Trust Universal Orlando to milk the ride for everything that it can.

AP holders may get a 10% - 50% discount, but I can't see them making it free. AP passholders are less likely to buy the DVD and they would only make the lines longer than the premium experience that folks expect with an a la carte deal. Don't get me wrong. I'm an AP holder and I would LOVE to see it free. It would definitely find me hitting Citywalk at night more often. However, AP holders can't expect access to park rides after normal operating hours.
