Rip, Ride, Rockit!

We were there yesterday.

Saw what we thought was a 'fire' test (saw the white, flashing fire lights).

Also saw it run once for a test, but it stopped at the top  It could have run more than once (I'm sure it did), but we only saw it once.

That is all.

Don't shoot me now....Remember last year when The Simpsons opened? Express was not available for a while right after the opening...I hope that's not the case with the HR3.

Express was available when the Simpson's opened last year. We arrived on the day of the grand opening on May 15 and we had access to Express. Perhaps prior to the grand opening, Express wasn't available.

Yes, I think it was during the soft opening that Simpsons Express wasn't available and I expect the same with with Rip Ride Rockit. It will be interesting to see how long they do the soft opening before they do an official opening. I sure wish they had gone with B & M to design it; they always seem to deliver on time or early.

There are no inversions on the HR3 so you should be OK.
There wa a link here to pics of HR3 and it showed an inverted loop AND an inverted twist at the top of the loop. What the heck was I seeing then??? :confused3

Maybe that's what I was thinking but I could have sworn there were posts last year from people who could not use their Express access for a couple of weeks when it first opened. Oh well...whatever. :rolleyes1

You need to see the video of the ride on YouTube...there are NO inversions anywhere on the track as there are no shoulder harnesses on the trains.

Thanks for infro I have been on upside roller costers like Rockin Roller Coster and Screamin Calforina it just the floorest ones that I can't seem do as much as I want to them. It does looks like it going to a very intresting ride, now that I though about it it sort of Universal's Answer to Rocken Rolling Coster at Disney expect at Universal you pick the songs

The loop twists on its way up and down so that at the top of the loop, the vehicle is on top of the loop instead of upside-down, inside of the loop.

for the grand opening, yes, the ep line was used.
after the grand opening for the pass holders, we did have threads where the ep line was not operating at first.

I think of it as kind of a mobius strip loop. :lmao:

You said it! I finally re-found the picture I mentioned above with the thing that looks like a double inversion that's actually a non-inversion:

I just wish I could find the thread here on The DIS where I originally saw the link to this photo's thread. Maybe it was deleted? :confused3

You can't always go by the lack of shoulder harnesses (although I know you're right on this one...no inversions on Rip Ride Rockit). But don't forget Scorpion at Busch Gardens. A nice big upsidedown loop done with only lapbars. I always find that a little freaky.

I was just at Universal Studios on Thursday and I was waiting in line to get on the Jimmy Neutron ride and I was talking to the lady who scanned the express tickets and she was telling me the ride was opening in three weeks dont know of anyone already said it and she asked me would I ride and I was like in a heart beat she said she wouldn't get on it if they paid her lol but looking at it in person made me want to ride it even more guess I won't get the chance until next year but people were actually winning tickets off the radio to ride it the coaster looked really long lol can't wait to ride it may have to make a trip on spring break for it. :goodvibes

I think it's a chronosynclastic infundibulum!

They were doing test runs this past weekend, we could see it running from our hotel room.
