Rip, Ride, Rockit!

I think I am out for HR3, even it it does open by the time we are there Aug 8-14. I went to Six Flags Great America this week and felt very ill after a ride on The Viper. I won't risk feeling that way just to try HR3. Oh well! DH and DD will just have to tell me how it is! :headache:

I dunno. At Cedar Point I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Magnum. No matter how tall they build the others, they have yet to match the airtime of those bunny hills or the float time in that bowtie. Arrow Dynamics may have screwed up with the Bat at Kings Island and mismanaged themselves into oblivion, but Magnum is a fitting example of what they could do when they put their minds to it.

We met some friends at Cedar Point a few years back and had them sit in car 1, row 3 of Magnum. That row, in particular, has some of the most intense (read: expect bruises) air time of any coaster I've encountered. Especially on those bunny hops.

Agree - But I do have to say that I got to ride it ONCE, lol! It was hands down probably one of the best coaster's ever!! It's short, but man oh man it was awesome!

Agreed, I've ridden Ka 3 times and I loved it! I also spend my share of time in line waiting for it to work! I actually had more luck getting on it the first year it went in, then since then. I love El Toro as well.

Magnum absolutely kills my legs. Those restraints have to be the worst things ever. I dread those bunny hills because I know that that restraint is going to be digging into my legs.

Akdar, El Toro is a fabulous coaster. One of the best ever!

Universal employees were riding it last night, with ride supervisors saying it would be opening very soon outside the ride.

I saw it running a couple of times today, but it looked empty.

It was running empty yesterday but we spoke to the ride supervisors who were outside the ride talking to people. Currently doing ride training with the people who will be supervising the ride. We could see the staff sending the empty cars off. They are running tests still and it depends how well they go.

Let's hope there are no more delays and the ride can open soon. :thumbsup2

Here`s hoping all goes well with the testing. I think I had all but given up hope of this ride being open when we arrive.

We'll be there in three weeks so I'm hoping it will be open then!!! How awesome!

The ride is definitely progressing, we have been staying onsite for nearly 2 weeks and it has gone from just going round empty, having Universal employees only on it to running with staff in their costumes running empty cars round. I dont think it will be long till it is open unless another fault comes to light.

For what it's worth, I got a marketing email from Universal yesterday telling me to "pick my song for the exciting new coaster", or whatever....seems imminent now.

I think it's close to opening too in spite of all the naysayers.
