Sad news. I saw him in concert a couple times, including a 4-hour show at his bar in Key West.

I was so sad when I heard this. Saw him many times in concert and his music was the embodiment of good times, laughter and fun. I’m guessing he was diagnosed with something last year and it moved very quickly. He will certainly be missed by millions.

I was shocked to see this news this morning. From the description it sounds like you described….an undisclosed illness that moved quickly. He was a good guy. RIP.

Am so sad to see this today. He was a native of my area.

Very bummed I never got to see him live.

He got his start playing gigs at his alma matter in college.

I was so sad to see this when I got up this morning. Jimmy Buffet was the soundtrack of my childhood - it's all my dad and uncles listened to anytime we were having family get togethers.

Had a little cry this morning already. My dad and I had a special connection with Jimmy Buffett. On Dad's last morning, we watched the sunrise from his hospital bed and listened to some of our favorites: Nautical Wheelers, Tin Cup Chalice, Pirate Looks at Forty... We went to shows together. I went to so many I quit counting... It was never hard to find friends to go to a Buffett show! I thought there might be a comforting thread on the DIS this morning. Parrotheads and DIS friends ride a similar wave. Sending hugs to all those feeling sad today.
