Which order do you ???

I floss, rinse brush, rinse. odd huh?

I always rinse after brushing even though I do it before brushing...just a quirk of mine.

Anyone know if there is a specific order for optimal dental health?

I rinse, brush with electric toothbrush, then floss. My dentist told me it is best to floss after brushing so any remaining fluoride in the toothpaste is brought down through the teeth with the floss. Sometimes if I just don't feel fresh I will rinse with Listerine one more time.

I always brush and then floss. But I just read in my Health magazine last night that it is better to floss first and then brush.

There are two types of rinse: pre-brush rinse and post-brush rinse. Typically, a specific rinse works best (or perhaps only works) if it is used in the correct "order". For example, the traditional Listerine is not only best used post-brushing, but folks should also refrain from eating or drinking for a while after using it, so the lingering alcohol has an even greater chance of killing a few more germs.

I find flossing to be pretty gross, personally, so I couldn't imagine doing it without either brushing, rinsing, or both afterwards.

interesting that there are many schools on this. I brush, floss, rinse at the instruction of my dentist. I guess if we're all doing it all, we stand a chance to beat the bad plaque and gum disease guys, eh?

Anybody see the new prebrush rinse commercial on tv? I just saw it today.

Floss, Sonicare i8300 toothbrush brushing and Listerine with 21.6% alcohol rinse.

You have to floss first to get any food that is wedged between teeth out because chances are that brushing is not going to get it.

Just for the heck of it, try flossing again after you floss, brush and rinse and there will be times you get even additional particles out.

I floss to get all the stuff out of my teeth, then rinse with water, brush my teeth, rinse with water then use listerine.
