turns 70 years old today- 70 on 07/07/2010.:)

I fell in love with the Beatles (their music and everything else about them!) when I first saw them on the Ed Sullivan Show in February of '64. I was eight years old. They have been a constant in my life ever since, and their music has always been able to make even the worst of days so much brighter.

My three kids grew up listening to the Beatles, and now my 22-month old grandson is growing up with their music.:) Their music is truly timeless.

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Ringo! Happy Birthday, Mr. Starkey! Thanks for the music! PEACE AND LOVE!

70?!!!! Wow, that's hard to believe.

Happy birthday Ringo.

I thought it was very sweet when he said that inside he feels like he's still 24. Wasn't he in a child's cartoon? Was it Thomas the Train? I think that's an excellent attitude to have!

Ringo was the original narrator of the Thomas the Tank Engine tv show from 1984-86. He also played Mr. Conductor (before George Carlin took over the role) on Shining Time Station.

liar!!!! lol!

Honest! He is a very young-looking 70! It is amazing how fit he looks, especially when you realize that he has dealt with several very serious illnesses (and several major operations) throughout his life. And, he is still touring at the age of 70.:thumbsup2

Ringo is awesome...I share his Bday (tho 22 years younger) and he is an inspiration..I hope I can be as together as he is at 70.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FINFAN!!!party:

Thanks! DD and DS got me the coolest gift...the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland desk button that yells "OFF WITH HER HEAD!" when you hit it...just like the Easy button from Staples. They bought it when we were in WDW last month...LOVE it!

Ringo is playing at Radio City Music hall tonight, to celebrate his birthday, "with a little help from his friends," an all-star band. :thumbsup2

I've seen him twice in concert and loved every minute he was onstage! Oh how I wish I was at last night's concert. What a surprise for that audience!

How awesome was that!!!!! Thanks for sharing.

I saw the Beatles in 1964 at Olympia Stadium in Detroit. One of the great memories of my life.

One reason Ringo has always been my favorite Beatle is due to his ability to stay grounded.

Way back I watched an interview of Ringo. He mentioned how much he enjoyed eating fish n’ chips. The interviewer was clearly aghast and said “Fish and chips? Why, with your success and wealth you could go and eat at the finest restaurants in the world!”

Ringo’s simple reply: “Well, I like fish n’ chips”.

What a great surprise and treat for the audience! I loved that Sir Paul wore a black suit/skinny tie ala the Beatles 1964!

Ringo rules! It's amazing the drummers who cite him as a major influence.
His playing is very highly regarded not for being flashy, but for being "just right".:)

I have a funny Ringo Starr story. In the fall of 2000, I went to visit my friend who just got married and was living in Monaco - I was 6 1/2 months pregnant though so we kept the visit relaxing. My friend suggested we go to the spa for a swim...guess whom we saw at the Spa Club in Monaco out by the pool? Ringo Starr and his wife. Later that same night, we went out to a local italian restaurant for dinner - and guess who walked in and sat in the table behind us? Ringo Starr and his wife...I was teasing my friend that "Ringo Starr better stop following me all around Monaco".

What was so funny was that no one came over to him or bothered him in the slightest. I guess the Rich folks in Monaco don't do stuff like that. ;)
