Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

It's a deal

I love those tigers! Two of them were sleeping when we were there but the third one was pacing a little bit. One of the gorillas at AK had a baby around 5 PM on Friday! We saw the cute little guy(or girl? I don't remember ) on Saturday! We couldn't see him very well though, since his mommy was holding him off in the corner. We could see his little head poking out of his mom's arms though

I am always glad any time I can see them up running around or playing in the water. I really love it when we get to see new baby animals! I think I would be so happy working in that place.

I somehow missed the tigers this trip...sigh...guess I need a do-over!

The parrots are so pretty! I don't have an issue with birds, but I could never have birds that big as pets. We have cockatiels and it really hurts when they bite. I don't want to imagine what a beak that big could do.

I know for sure that I am in the minority (or just completely and totally alone) on this one, but I think that bats have the cutest little faces. I tried telling Charles that recently, and he looked absolutely horrified. :lmao: I can't help it, I have a fondness for things that most people find creepy (like bats, and lizards...)

Do-over?
Tell Dad to break out the glasses and start the planning!

I think some of those bats look like little chihuahuas. I don't have a problem watching them in a place like that. I probably wouldn't want to be swooped down upon by one, but so far, I don't have a huge aversion to bats. We study about them in October in school, and the kids think they're pretty cool animals.

Ah, you know I can't get enough of Animal Kingdom shots!!! :lovestruc

Coincidentally, my dogs are all looking rather like those tigers right now!

I love Animal Kingdom, as you know. I still haven't spent enough time there or photographed everything I want to.

My cat looks like his big striped relatives quite often, too.

MeMom, so funny you should say we could go the Earl of Sandwich when I was thinking Trent might enjoy a steak at Shula's....

If he knew his schedule, I'd tell you to set him a plate! He would love a good steak. We'll figure out how to get you guys together, be it steak or peanut butter and jelly, which will probably be what he'll be eating until he gets his first good paycheck. ;)

You will really like Wigd.....

Yes, you will. How could anybody not like such a giving, caring, Disney loving girl?

I love Animal Kingdom! The tigers are just beautiful, and I love the birds!

If we're ever there at the same time, that's where we will have our DIS meet, then. :)

weirdcouple.jpg

I really don't remember your hair being that long or wigd's being that short!

Ahhhhh....Animal Kingdom.

Yep. That's what I say. We're reading a book called Zoos right now at school, and I have pretended myself into Animal Kingdom many times in the past week. I've shown the kids some of my AK pictures, and they love it!

Thanks. I just get nervous meeting people.

:rotfl2: :lmao: And that's when I'd walk the other way...

Trent and Jamie will make you feel at ease. They're around your same age. wigd will, too. Shocker will just sneak into the background and take pictures. (Which I am hoping that if I am very nice to him, he will not put up any that he took of me at the Christmas tree. At least not anything where I am not mostly covered up by someone else.)

Thanks for the pic Shocker! Now I know who to look out for in the Boardwalk Lobby!

If it's warm, he might be wearing striped shorts instead of long pants. And wigd may have changed to purple hair by then. I hope you do see them, either way. :thumbsup2

:lovestruc your AK pictures....I must admit I do have a fondness for those bats although I swear their furry body part is the size of my dog! I think their wings are so intriguing to look at.
So funny you snapped a picture of your neighbors food

Tracy

The wings are interesting - long, thin fingers covered with skin. I think the furry part and the face looks like a little dog.

We weren't eating, so I took a picture of what someone else was eating. :)

I love all the theme and details that goes into AK!
Those bats look like they don't want to be my friend!!:scared1:
Only you would take a picture of some random people's food!:sad2:
I could very well use a mickey cutting board.

Yes, there is much to see in AK. ::yes:: I still have many pictures to take there.

I wanted one of the little Mickey bowls.

Wow! I missed a lot. I had to go back like 10 pages and find out where you mentioned a second interview. So congratulations are in order for your baby boy. I think, personally, that it can be a weird transition when as a "grown up" you get that first real "grown up" job. Like when you finally graduate college and you are no longer a student? We are students for SO long and then it's like, now what?? Good for him.
It's totally hilarious that you took a picture of a strangers food!

He's going to be a big boy now. :goodvibes It is good to try new things when you are young and single and see what is out there for you before you settle down. He seems to be very happy right now, so I am happy for him.

Oh crongratulations to Trent! :) That's awesome! I know it's sad for you Memom but everything will work out just fine I'm sure. At least we live in the age of technology, that makes keeping in touch much easier! And he's a good boy, I'm sure he'll remember to call home!

I love that you took sneaky pictures of your neighbours' food! That is hilarious! Totally something I would do! But I definately skip the bats! Yuck! I am definately scared of bats!

Oh, he'll call. I have no doubt he loves his Mama. :)

I was just taking random pictures, and the food smelled so good; I couldn't help myself.

I definitely treasure every moment with him. I feel so lucky to have been given this adorable, happy, giggling, smiling little boy who is so clever and inquisitive! Sometimes I look at him and just feel like I might burst with all the love I have for him. He actually makes me cry tears of happiness I am so proud and happy he is mine - we made him and I brought him into this world!

Over in the UK at the moment they are showing a documentary on a maternity ward - and we have seen babies being born, Mum's labouring etc... last night a baby was born and wasn't breathing as he came out. You could see them working on him. It was hard watching and I was crying my eyes out! It felt like the longest few minutes ever but finally the baby cried and was OK. He has a bit of fluid on his lungs and was making squeaking sounds! He was taken to the special care unit and made a full recovery. After watching I just went and sat in Toby's room and looked at him for a while, then picked him up and gave him a little drink (he's not very well - teeth!).

I can't believe I have a lifetime of happiness with him!

Love your AK piccies - especially the kitchen shopping! I LOVE Mickey kitchen bits!!!
Also love the food pics - I would want to make sure Flame Tree BBQ is one place we eat at next year!

Well it is 8.50am now and I really must start work! I have lots to do this morning, then when that's done I can relax a bit!!!

I even had to have a cup of coffee this morning, not a cup of tea, to wake me up!

Sorry for the long post!!!

xxx

I cry whenever I watch A Baby Story. I cry when I watch Animal Planet. It's a good thing I don't watch much TV.

Flame Tree - just follow your nose. It smells so good around that place!

Great AK pictures!

I love all the little details like the bicycle and the decorated trees I never noticed how every little thing at AK has some sort of theming

I can't wait to see the tigers on my trip we walked the gorilla trail last time but didn't have time to see the tigers

I think some of those bats look like little chihuahuas.

That's funny, I was thinking the same thing! I have a chihuahua and I think they have the cutest little faces :goodvibes I love watching the bats, especially when they are eating!

I have to make sure and journey on the trails the next time I am at AK. I have never made it to them! Next trip is just myself and my hubby so I will get to do less rides and more exploring!

We love to see the gorillas, too. It is just so cool to see these big creatures up so close.

When I see the bats, I always think of the little Japanes girl who said in her choppy English saying, "I wish not to see the bats." She was so cute.

Yes, you must do the trails! You will enjoy the leisurely pace as just two adults. You'll probably be surprised at the things you are going to notice.

Exciting news this morning!

My family and I were there on Mother's Day last year and the CMs really do go out of their way to make all of the mothers there feel special :cutie:

Food. Not ours. I took a picture of someone else's food while they weren't looking. :upsidedow

WOW exciting news!! Maybe I can talk my child into taking me to Disney for Mothers Day! We need to plan a meet!

Yay for Mother's Day! Mom and Dad left for their cruise last year on Mother's Day (wow how time flies) and David and I went to the MK. They gave me a rose when I entered but when I told them I wasn't a mother, they said "Someday you will be!"

Congratulations to Trent. I hope everything works out just the way he wants it to. I know how Jill feels. My brother and I are very close. He moved to Texas, 12 hours away, about 4 years ago. I only get to see him a few times a year. We got to go to WDW together last year and it was so great to be there with our families for a week. You will enjoy WDW even more now that you will be seeing Trent after a long time.

Congratulations to you, Memom for getting to go to WDW for Mother's Day. Jill is very thoughtful.

I do hope we can meet up when you and Jill come to Memphis. The Disney store would be a great place to meet. It is in the Wolfchase Mall, right off of the Interstate.

Memom, thanks for reminding me to be thankful for stepping on my son's toys and hurting myself.;)

I'm a little late but Congrats to Trent !:yay:

I don't think I have told you before but my oldest DS name is Trenton & every time I type Trent I want to type Trenton . lol

Great AK pictures , the ones of the Bats & Tigers were just beautiful !

Loved the shopping pictures of all the kitchen stuff ! Did you ever end up getting any of it I know you had said before you had wanted to purchase some next time ? I still intend on buying some on our trip in September , the pictures are really helping me to make a list :)

Congrats to MeMom on your upcoming Mothers Day Trip ! :yay: Can't wait to here all about it !popcorn::popcorn::

:banana:Mothers Day Trip!! That means I will miss meeting you by one week!! We are there from 4/30 to 5/7.

Oh, MeMom! I am so happy that you get to go to WDW for Mother's Day! I burst into tears when I read that! (I am one of those people that cries at everything.)

Jill-You are awesome! I know you'll have a great time. Are Brooklyn and Bella going too?

WOOT!! Congrats Memom on a Mother's Day Trip!!! I know you and Jill will have a great time!!!! YAY!!!! I took my mom there a few years back during Mother's Day and we had such a great time together!

Jill how wonderful of you to take MeMom to WDW for Mothers Day. Maybe my kids need to take clues from you and do something cool like that for their Mom.

MeMom how great is your daughter? Congrats on your trip.
