Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

I just love your shopping photos!

I didn't realize that security was that tight when you drive up to a resort :scared1:

Normally they are not. I'm not sure what the deal was that night. Maybe they had had some trouble. Who knows? She finally relented and let us in.

I had tears I was laughing so hard.....:rotfl2:

When can we expect you over spring break?
we have a baby bed and a sofa sleeper....
we'll fix up something on the floor for Brooklynn, Jill can have her Boardwalk!

Nobody, but nobody, was going to harm you guys that night!

I am broke. I know I will be crying big old giant tears during spring break, but I have to stay home. You are so sweet to offer, but you'd be sorry if you heard my snoring. It might crack the walls of the Boardwalk. They might never let you come back!

If I had the money to get there, I might take you up on it for Jill getting her Boardwalk, and I could sleep out on one of the pool lawn chairs.

What sweet memories she'll have of spending the night on the floor with her MeMom! :lovestruc

So nice that you got to meet up with Wigd! Oh my gosh about the guard at Saratoga! :sad2:

My plan is to get your CD in the mail tomorrow right after school. I know you gave me too much for shipping.

I hope Brooklynn has all good memories of me. I have a lot of fun with her.

That guard at Saratoga...wow! Just a little over the top, huh?

I absolutely love Basin. I went in there with my mom for the first time last year and I can't wait to bring Kailyn there. I'm not sure if my dad would be willing to go in. :rotfl2: Speaking of which, today we got to start playing "one month from today"!

If you ever come through this way, we'll be happy to cook you a good old Tennessee country meal.
And I promise - no possum!

:lmao: on the possum, and thanks for the offer!:thumbsup2 I only lived "up north" for a little less than a year. My mother in law thinks barbecue means grilling chicken and putting barbecue sauce on it. ;) She hates Cracker Barrel, "white gravy", grits, any kind of beans, and thinks Dr. Pepper tastes like medicine. But I love her anyway.

Oh I missed shopping with you Memom!! :) I can't wait to go back to all the stores at DTD! (I hope my mum catches a little shopping bug before we go too so I don't irritate her too much! Normally she hates it!). I'm glad the girls were easily entertained for your trip down (how long of a drive is it by the way?). Looks like a great start (minus Ms.Fife at SSR!) - and I LOVE Brooklyn's dancing! I about spit out my drink when she flipped her shoe off! What a sweet girl! :)

Woo! The trip has started! :woohoo:

Yes, thank goodness for DVD players! :worship:

Love the pic of Brookie and her static hair in the slide!

I love the Florida Welcome Center! I love how Bella practically smiles for every picture!

Woo! DTD! :woohoo:

:rotfl: Great story about the guard! That will definately be a memory from this trip forever!

Oh drat! I thought we could have had some good times!

If you're feeling brave...
Shocker started his PTR last night, sorry I don't have the link.

Hi MeMom & Jill!! MeMom--I found your TR in the link in your siggy after you posted on my PTR!! I'm excited to read this TR as we're planning a trip to WDW in December!! (not sure if you saw that in my PTR)

I'm so sad that the Disney Store at Opry Mills is closing!! We shop there often as it's only a 3 hour trip from Memphis! Nashville is a fun/quick weekend trip for us!! Thankfully we have 1 Disney Store here in Memphis and it's only a 10 minute trip from our house!! Needless to say I'm there A LOT--so much that every CM knows VERY well!! :lmao:

I can't wait to read more about your trip!! :goodvibes

It's not a place the guys care a thing about, but they can always be sent to Team Mickey or somewhere while we look around and do a lot of sniffing. :)

I enjoy cooking for a crowd. The cleaning, not so much, but it is nice to cook up a big meal and have plenty of leftovers to last a few days. :thumbsup2

Drew is a Dr. Pepper fiend. I like it, but I don't drink much soda of any kind. I'm a water girl.

Subbing! I'll be back later to catch up! :)

We are glad to have you along. Hope you'll enjoy lots of pictures, and always feel free to join in the conversation.

You knew I would get right to the shopping, right? ;)
The actual drive, according to Mapquest, is ten and a half hours. We take our time and make stops when we need them. There is no waiting for another ten miles or whatever to stop when someone needs to stop.

I stopped filming right when that happened, but you can kind of see the shocked look on her face. She is a sweet girl!

Yep, we're there! And we've already had a Dis meet. It was a great start to the trip.

DVD player = peace and quiet. :goodvibes

Shocker started his PTR last night, sorry I don't have the link.

We can't come spring break, but if you have room for us on a BLT balcony or out in the yard or whatever for 4th of July fireworks, we'll take you up on that.

I'm going to finish responses and then go find Shocker. :thumbsup2

It's nice to know where our back-up Disney Stores are, in case Cool Springs closes down.

December in Disney World is beautiful! :santa:

******************************

It's back to work for me today. It was so nice to have a four day weekend. It's still cold, but we are supposed to get well into the 30's today. Everyone have a good day and stay warm and safe wherever you are.

Oh gosh! How rediculous! :lmao: Some people who have those types of jobs have issues with their "authority". We have run into those kinds before too. It is sad really that they live in that kind of fantasy world.

Whew, now I am caught up! :thumbsup2

Looks like a good start to the trip so far, minus the scary guard at Saratoga. :scared1: Yikes! But that was so nice of Anita and Marc to let you have their supplies - how sweet!

I love the beginning of a Disney trip. It is so exciting to know that you have so much fun ahead of you. I can feel that excitement in you update. Too bad you were interrogated on your first night, but at least it is a funny story to share. It makes for a very interesting update.

How cute :cutie: that Brooklyn wanted to have a camp out w/ you the night before the trip . The pictures from the Florida welcome center are adorable , especially the one of Bella standing up in her seat !

Love the picture of the WDW welcome sign at night , one of the first times I've seen it photographed at night .:thumbsup2 The sandwiches from Earl look so yummy , boy could I eat one of those for lunch today ! Great shopping pictures , saw a lot of things I might want to buy one day :)Sounds like you had a very nice dis meet that night also .

Jill-we've also had that same problem with the gate guards when we were just going to a resort for dinner . What's up with the third degrees all the time , I know us families look like were up to no good and all !:rotfl2: Glad to hear that you finally made it in after your interrogation was complete though :) lol

We laughed about it when it was over, but we were stressing over getting our free water from wigd there for a few minutes!

Yes, it was very nice. And the fact that they waited for us all that time we were trying to get in - they had to have some patience. We definitely appreciated the food and drinks.

It is fun, isn't it? I'm getting the jitters as I look at the pictures. I'm ready to be there again. I'm going to need therapy in March.

It was a good way to start a trip. Shopping, Dis meet, good food, Christmas music on the plaza...very nice!

We've never had any issues with guards before. That was a first-time deal for us. It made us feel kind of criminal-like. :upsidedow

Looks like a great mini DIS meet at the mall. Sorry to see the store is closing. :sad1:

Oh poor Barnetta Fife, she's going to give herself a heart attack if she continues to take her job so darn seriously. ;)

Great start to the trip! The girlies look so happy to be there! :)

And yes, thank God for inventing portable dvd players. Huge lifesavers!

What a sweet memory at the start of your vacation for you and Brooklynn. Love that she was too excited to sleep and wanted to sleep on the floor by you with all of her little friends.:cloud9:

Great start to the trip report! Brooklynn looks like she is in her element shopping at Disney!

That is SO FUNNY about Brooklynn and the apples from Cracker Barrel!!!:rotfl:

Someday I am going to make it to the Mall of America. That might be a future girl trip! :)

I'd recommend coming in the fall. It's beautiful weather here and not humid....or freezing cold with snow and ice! Unfortunately, fall is often very short here. Just a couple months.

If you do ever make it up here, I will be there greeting you! We could take the kids on the rides at Nick Universe and shop, shop, shop!

We need to see what's a sort of centerpoint for a lot of us. How far is everybody from like Louisville, KY? That might be high enough north to get in all our northern friends.

766 miles. 12 hours 24 minutes.

Not that bad really considering we are planning to drive to St. Louis, MO this summer....KY is just an hour more. :scratchin

Henry was looking with me at this update. He saw Brooklynn and said her name. Then he saw Bella and asked who she was, so I said "Bella" he repeated it. Then he saw the baby doll and said "More Bella." :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Oh goodness! What an ordeal at SSR!! I cannot recall them checking ANY ID for the one time I drove at SSR!

Just catching up and loving it so far! Bella and Brooklyn are sooo cute - I think Brooklyn looks just like her dad and Bella sure looks like mom.

MeMom - you asked about our pipes that we use up here so that they don't freeze - apparently yes things are done quite differently here in order to avoid that. And I guess we just don't really know the weather to be any different than what we get every year. We always have one or two reallllllly cold stretches in the winter that makes -10C (14 F) seen downright balmy.

Anyway, enough about the weather - I am making myself depressed. Now I need to read some more DIS to cheer myself up:laughing:

Looking forward to some more of the report.

Oh yay, you started! The girls have grown so much since July. I can tell Bella is very excited to go back to Disney and of course Brooklynn as well. The pictures at the welcome center are too cute. I love that baby doll had to get in the action too.
The story of the security guard is too funny. I know it wasn't humorous at the time but I'm sure you can go back and laugh at it now. How nice of Wigd and her crew to give you their supplies.
What are your dates for June? I just found out the day we're going in June.:woohoo: We'll be there from the 17th-21st for father's day. Just a short little trip but we'll have fun and I won't need therapy until December.:thumbsup2
