We really want to try the Segway!! Has anybody done it yet? where do I call? And how soon do I need to make reservations?

Call 407-WDW TOUR to book Around the World on a Segway tours.

Just called and made my reservations! AAA members,APH,Disney Visa-15% off ticket price!! That's a $24 savings for us!!!!!
CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

My wife and I did the tour on 16 Feb. What a great time. You are going to love it! Trust the machine! You'll be driving it like you stole it in about twenty minutes!

I know the 1st hour is instructional, but just how much instruction did ya need before you could operate the segway by yourself? Is it one of those activities that once you get how it works, you're all set? We are so jazzed about doing this!

I am thinking about doing this when I go in less than three weeks. I am just going to call when I get there, to see if there is room available. I need to make sure I have enough money once I get there. It will be a blast to ride one if I get too. I am hoping there will be room for one on Monday March 22, but we'll see. Sounds like a blast!!!

The first fifteen minutes is instructional. They show you how to turn it off and on and do a brief overview of the mechanics of it. Within twenty minutes of showing up you're getting up on it and learning how to ride it. They start you off easy. Starting, stopping, turning. Then they move you around the traffic cones in the room to practice. You'll practice powered assist mode where you get off an pull it along with you and also do inclines and declines. My sister is not athletic at all and was doing great within thirty minutes. I fly helicopters for a living and it was similar in a lot of ways. Trust the machine. It will do the work for you. Be prepared though. Your feet will probably hurt after it is all over. You're basically standing still for two hours even though you're going all over the place.

Anyone know how long the segway tour last?
How often they give them?

Thanks,
Sharon:wave2:

They do it everyday from 0845 to 1100. Ten people per class.

How much is it and can my DS16 do it next year?

The cost is 80 per person. Not sure about the age though. I seem to recall though that under 17 with a valid driver's license and signed waiver are eligible. Don't quote me though!

I just booked my 18 yo son for the 7th of July, and it was $68 using DVisa instead of the usual $80. He can't wait!
But book fast if you can, since it's been mentioned here on the boards that it's only 10 people at a time per day.
