Can you take a ride on the monorail without actually having your pass? I ask because i'm flying out to Disneyland with my girlfriend. She's going to be there on business for the first few days of the trip. We have three day passes which we'll use on a Fri, Sat and Sun. I'm kicking myself for not just paying the extra 20 dollars and getting the fourth so i can play on my own on Thursday! Anyway, one of the things i planned on doing Thursday was seeing the hotels, Downtown Disney and taking a ride on the monorail. I just wanted to find out if i could do that without actually using my ticket.

Thanks all!

not sure but I dont think so...usually, when you get in line for the monorail they check your ticket

really? So i guess they check tickets before you get on the monorail at any of the stops (hotels, etc.)? It would seem like a logistical nightmare!!

well if you think about it...they let you off in tomorrowland...there is no turnstiles to check your tickets there....

They sure do. They make sure you are a park guest. There were two lines, one for the resort guests and the other for those stay else where.

I think you can upgrade your three day pass to a four day one, might be worth checking into.

This monorail only has the 2 stops - DTD and then on to Tomorrowland. There aren't any other places to get on or off - so they have to make sure everyone who rides has valid park admission. It would be nice if they let people take round trips without getting off at Tomorrowland without a ticket - but that would be the logistical nightmare!

In order to get into the station on the DTD end of the line you have to put your ticket through just like the park entrance. No free rides, sorry.

Yep, you need a ticket. To get on the monorail at DTD, you have to go through a turnstile and show your ticket.
