Riding the bus to the bus?

OK...I'm trying to figure how most folks do it. You ride a bus in the campground to get to the Park bus stops(or boat for MK).

Or do you drive your vehicle to the bus stop (to parks) to save time?

Driving to the FW bus stop is not really a posibility in most cases. The only place that you could park and catch a bus out of FW is the reception outpost; but most park busses leave from the settelment (marina).

Personally, I drive all the way to every park except MK.

Here's what we do. At Fort Wilderness, there are many bus stops - usually only a short stroll from your campsite. When you go to Magic Kingdom, hop a bus to the Settlement Trading Post, then walk out to the dock and ride the boat to Magic Kingdom. Sometimes when we go to Epcot we do the same and catch the monorail from Magic Kingdom to Epcot (it depends on the time of day we're heading over there).

We drive to all the other parks. Parking is free as long as you have your parking pass. You'll get a parking pass for your stay at any Disney Resort. This makes coming and going (especially with kids) pretty easy. Just remember where you park. No kidding - my husband, my 13 year-old, and I have argued over whether we parked in Journey or Imagination and in what row!!!

If you are traveling with a stroller you will want to take the ferry to the MK. They don't make you collapse the stroller on the ferry or on the monorail. We take the ferry to the MK, then take the monorail when going to Epcot. If you are going to AK or DS or the water parks and DD you will need to take a bus or in some cases a bus to a bus. It is not bad, and everything is well marked. Just check the maps at the FW bus stops and you'll be fine.

Hey, Natasha! I just read your FW Info...it is GREAT! I learned a lot. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Actually, I'm Tim; Natasha is our wonderful German Shepherd Dog:teeth:

Thanks, I try to help folks out if possible.

Oops! :hyper: Seriously....there should be a link to it on this board...lots of my questions were answered!

Personally, we love to use Disney's transportation! :bounce: It's such a long drive for us to get to FW, part of the charm of staying inside is being able to park the van, then not having to use it again. :hyper: We enjoy using the buses, boats, monorails....you name it! We normally try to sit towards the front of the buses...you can get some interesting information from the drivers. The funniest thing was once we had a driver who, by his own admittance, said he knew EVERYTHING about the parks. He talked non-stop from MGM to FW. Would you believe he made a wrong turn getting to FW and we ended up entering FW from the gate for the workers!! :teeth: No one on the bus, who listened to him tell us how much he knew, let him live it down as the exited the bus!!
