I will be at USF/IOA in Feb and I want to try out BTTF. However, I don't want to get sick. I have been told by several people that if you have motion sickness to skip it. I can ride Body Wars and Star Tours and look off to the side if I start feeling quesy, I am wondering if you can do this on BTTF?

Star tours makes me sick but I can do BTTF with a minimum of nausea. Yes, you can look to the side if it helps you on Star tours. BTTF is pretty rough which is my main complaint. It hurts my lower back and neck.

BTTF is showing it's age. ask the people you're riding with if you can sit in the front seat. it helps out.

We did this ride twice, and the first time was okay, but the 2nd time was very rough. I would also suggest sitting in the middle if possible. Its a fun ride though.

I personally hate BTTF and will never ride it again, but the reason I hate it is because it's such a rough ride. I would try it once and make sure you sit in the front row. You get beat up riding in the back row.

Since I turned 40, I notice I get dizzy now... must be old age...

I rode BTTF last fall I got stuck in the last row, next to the door... and BOY OH BOY did I get sick... I tried to keep my eyes closed, but I still had to run off the ride to "dispose of" what was filling my mouth... not to get into much detail... a woman next to me was "fertilizing" the same foliage over the rail as I was.... There was a water fountain right there to help us clean up....

I had on a sea-sick patch behind my ear, and I had some over the counter Dramamine... I still got sick on that ride... I had no problems on all the other rollercoasters and motion rides... just that one!

And all the praying, whining, crying, pleading, and begging in the world did not stop the ride to let me off...
I wonder if the other guests in my car knew how lucky they were that I actually "contained my mess" till I got to the rail....

We LOVE it and Im not a fan of rollercoasters, but I LOVE BTTF!! If you can handle Star Tours, you should be fine!! NOTE************ ALWAYS SIT IN THE FRONT, NEVER IN THE BACK SEAT!!**************** I have sat in the front and I can see everything and I dont feel like I am in a vehicle, but when I am in the back seat, which I did at Universal in CA, I got sick!!! Beware!! :)
D.D.

I would never go on this ride again either !!! :guilty:

I've had motion sickness 3 times in my 39 years. This was one of them. My daughter did also.

Not only is it rough ( I had to brace myself with my feet to hold onto my 7 yo daughter) but you also have to watch the video along with it.

I don't know if it has changed in 5 years, but watching a video up close and going up...then down then a sharp turn to the right...then a sharp turn to the left...going straight down with your stomach dropping along with the movement of the car.....oops...it's all coming back to me now.

Sorry, but the motion along with the video is too much. I'll also add that I've been going to Cedar Point twice a year since I've been a kid and have never once had motion sickness from a ride.

Then again, there's my father who laughed so loud and frequently that it was embarrassing. I guess he liked it!! :D

Good Luck!!!

I'll never ride again either. It's one of those simulators that tricks the brain into thinking you're moving a direction you are not. Plus it shakes violently.

we have always love riding this, but on our last trip I was so sick I couldn't get off of it fast enough. I was so beaten up I was sore the next day!

This is a rough, rough ride. I was surprised how banged up my head and neck got, was in the back row which based on these posts is bad. I don't get motion sickness so that wasn't a problem , but the stinking thing was just so rough. Plus the shows before the ride are really boring. Wouldn't let my motion sickness prone hubby near this one.

Wow, I sat in back row, a big guy and never had any issues on this ride & I have motion sickness. It must depend on the person, although it's been 5+ years since I've rode it :( Going in Feb, so will let you guys know the status of my luck.

I went on this ride once. NEVER AGAIN! I was sick for quite a while after. I thought the girl sitting next to me was going to hurl in my lap!!!

I WOULD AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Our whole family (minus DS) got sick at both BTTFs in Orlando and Hollywood. I can ride Star Tours without a problem. Body Wars makes me sick too.

I haven't ridden BTFTR for a few years now.

I have enjoyed the ride in the past, however more recently it has made me feel sick.

You have to ride in the front, I was in the back once and banged my head on the roof of the vehicle.

I did get a bit nervous the last time I rode it which didn't help - it's much more jerky and rough than Star Tours.
I think part of my problem has been that I have been on a few rides before I ride BTF so maybe it is one to ride first - does anyone know if the ride gets more smooth later in the day?

It's strange because I also feel a bit ill when I take my boy on 'Cat In The Hat' - must be all that spinning around...

Just back from US with my mother. We both tend to get motion sick (star tours at MGM gets both of us). We both do ok on BTTF. Jimmy Neutron gets to both us, her more than me.

Don't do it!!!! We didn't get sick but sat in the back and it was like being in an automobile accident. We got off with headaches and neckaches and I had a knot on my head where I was thrown against the roof. I think it's pretty dangerous and I was quite annoyed that I allowed my two younger sons to ride as it was too rough - think "Shaken baby syndrome" - I think that is what happened to my brain as it slammed around in my skull. I was pretty surprised considering Kelly Monaghan claims it as the best ride in Orlando in his book, Universal Orlando. Thanks, but no thanks!

A few years ago BTTF was much smoother but I think the years have not been good to that ride. It needs a major overhaul. I agree, it shakes your teeth out.

we ended up at MGM instead of US today and rode star tours. I know these are two of the oldest simulator rides around and they're both classic rides.....but come on. they both need major refurbs, if possible.
