In addition to paying for a “known traveler number” through the TSA precheck program, at least where we live, you are required to make an appointment, bring documents or at the very least bring your passport It is only good for 5 years, so you have to rinse and repeat. Truly entitled people would expect to just roll in without an appointment and have a lifetime exclusion from those long regular TSA lines.
It’s called Clear, it’s $179 a year (then $50 per adult family member. Minors are free) and it’s been worth every penny. Combine it with TSA Pre and I get through Orlando security in eight minutes. Clear also works at a lot of concerts and sporting events.
I strongly oppose and resent all this security everywhere. I think it is nothing but window dressing and is fundamentally worthless in terms of actually preventing danger or threats. But since we’ve all acquiesced to it, Clear’s worth having.
