Annual Pass renewal Question for Florida resident

So my renewal for my annual pass is coming up and I’m a Florida resident so I do the monthly payments. I seem to remember last time I renewed I did it early because there was talk they weren’t making annual passes available. I seem to remember having the billing overlapping for my old and new pass and having 2 payments for several months because I renewed early.
So if I renew 2 months early for 2 months I will have overlapping payments?
And if I do that I guess I would stop being billed 2 months before the next pass expires ? They only bill 12 months correct?
I don’t understand why they don’t start billing the new one once the older one expires but it’s their choice
All this being said is there any benefit to renewing early or should I just wait until the day before my current one expires?

If you renewed early last year, then your monthly billing will end early and when you renew you should only have one payment each month. So this overlapping billing should really only happen the first time you renew early or if you later wait to renew and subsequently renew early again. You can look at your contract to see when your billing ends and renew accordingly so you only have one payment in each month.

The benefit to renewing early is if you need or want to make theme park reservations for after your current pass expires. You won't be able to make those reservations unless you have a renewed pass on your account. I am also not sure if an active AP is needed to book AP discounted resort reservations for dates after your AP has expired.
