Disney is out of control!!!

We did the Canadian 5 night in 2012 price was something like $1500 for a 4A with 2 adults and 1 child.

Now we did get a special because it was either the last week or 2nd to last week they did that cruise and I cguess it was pretty empty.

But $3000-$3500 more please!!!

Are you sure about $1500 for 3 people in a 4A? That seems really low. I am sure the prices have gone up, but I remember the prices on the previous Canadian sailings being quite a bit higher than you are quoting, and I always price Inside staterooms.

Wow! That does sound like a lot! :faint: Did you try complaining to DCL about the high price?

Hi... I remember the 5 night Canadian cruise out of NYC being $6400 for my family of 5 in a 4A.

Maybe it's a typo. Our absolute best cruise deal was in 2013 on a Fl resident rate, Dream, 4 nights in a 4D and it was about $1500. I can't imagine the Canadian cruises ended up being that low at any point. But hey, anything is possible! Right?

I looked up the threads for the 2012 Candian cruises so I could get an idea of what to expect and didn't feel, for us, it was much over what I was expecting.....Maybe that's 'cause we just got done paying for our NYE cruise this December. Now THAT price WAS ridiculous!!!!! :crazy2:

I know... I keep wanting to do it but it is SO MUCH MORE! I dunno if I will ever pull the trigger... :crazy2:

Ha! Perspective, right? We are on the Norway/Iceland cruise, so this one looks like a steal to us!! And like you, I estimated the cost yesterday based on that same 2012 thread and the prices are pretty much spot on what we were expecting. I'm not seeing the huge increase the OP commented on. The prices in that thread are much, much higher than $1500 for three in a 4A. Either the prices dropped dramatically right before sailing or OP is mistaken.

Either way, DH and I are booking this first thing tomorrow. It will be our first adult only DCL cruise, AND it will get us to gold!! :cool1:

Edited: seeing Melissa S's post below, maybe the prices did drop that significantly right before sailing. But who knows if that would happen again?? I'm still going for it for it first thing in the AM!!

this one is actually pretty good pricing on mine, but I booked only 2 people and an inside stateroom.

We paid less than that for 2A1C, but we booked last minute. We did the 8 night Bahamian a couple months before, but the price was so low we couldn't resist. You are correct that initially they were expensive (we priced on board when we booked the 8 night) but the price dropped significantly. It was a nice cruise as DD was one of they very few kids on board. Lot of seniors on board so we had the pools and gym to ourselves.

I don't think it's much more. They may have had a last minute deal they took advantage of....,that's my best guess....but with only ONE Canadian cruise I'd be surprised if they will need to offer deals......who knows though......

I think it's a lot. 3900 for 2 adults and 2 kids in a 9c for a 5 day cruise. Maybe I've gotten spoiled with all the great GT rates over the last year or so, but this is more than I paid for any of the three 7 day cruises on the Fantasy we took in 2014. I also had a verandah on our Fantasy cruises. So to me this seems like a lot.

My TA is booking me tomorrow for Canada. First time ever cruising with DCL. I cannot wait to sail around the Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan. We sailed om a Ferry boat from the West Side to the East side of Manhattan and it was awesome.

Take the late dinner. I went on the Canada cruise the first time they went out and we left the port just before the first dinner. People did show up late.

I seem to remember reading here on the DIS how people were outraged by the high prices the Canada cruises had during the first time the Magic was in New York. And I think in the end they had some very steep discounts for the cruises later in the season (outside of the school holidays) that did not sell very well.

i just booked our cruise. Comparing the 5B pricing to what was posted yesterday, it appears that prices may have risen slightly ($190 for 2 adults) from yesterday. I say "may" because I realize there are lots of variables that could affect the total pricing. But I was looking at it without transfers or insurance, so it is possible they really have gone up.

If you're interested in this cruise, I'd recommend going ahead and booking it.

No typo, we paid $1500. It was the week after Labor day, I guess it hadent sold that great. Got an email from Disney Vacation Club on the special. Just found the email...

For just $130 per person, per night, Members can book a verandah Stateroom of their choice on select 5-Night cruises aboard the Disney Magic in September, 2012. (Total voyage fare is $649 per person)

I hope everyone booked early today. It looks like only Concierge remaining available now on the 5-night Canadian cruise!
