I see that there are a lot of "log" and "car" rides that have a front, middle, and back seats. I was wondering, is there a specific ride that it's BEST to ride in the front or do you get a good "show"/"ride" in any of the places to sit?

It seems like the more thrilling rides would be better in the front, but then again, what do I know?

Also, do you get a choice, or do you just get in where they tell you?

The front always offers the best/unobstructed view for picture taking.

The back gives you the "whip" effect when you are riding. (i.e. BTMRR the last car is pulled over hills by the weight of the previous cars and "snaps" as it comes over hills).

I guess I am more concerned about the VIEW! I am only 5'2" and don't want to wait an hour for a ride and then not be able to really see it very well. If that makes sense!

I am little too, and I always ask to sit in the front seat for Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Carribean ...Come to think of it, I ask to sit in front of most every ride. Cast members are completely accomodating. Just realize that you may have to wait a few extra minutes, but compared to having a tall or large individual block your view, It is worth it.:D

I really don't think it matters on most rides. Remember, the park is designed for little folks (kids) so if you happen to be a not particularly tall adult, there shouldn't be a problem. On most rides I can think of, the show is all around you. On something like Pirates, for example, its on both sides more than it is in front of you. In Small World, it is all around and above you so every seat is a good one. Splash Mountain the front row is better for the view of the park from the top, but for the ride itself it doesn't much matter. Tower of Terror the front is good, or if you can get get it, the middle seat in the back row because nobody is in front of you.

I like the back seats on RNR because you can see the coaster going into the loop ahead of you which is pretty neat and you feel more "pull" to the ride. On the mexico ride at epcot I always ask for the front seat because you can put your feet up and rest them a bit which feels pretty good after walking all day. :D

DH swears that the very back seat on Space Mountain is most thrilling. That's why I always hope we sit in the front!
