Sorry everyone! When our outage at work ended, I moved to yet another time critical project. With no impending trip in the works, and being away so much, it has been really hard to get motivated to post very much lately! Hope to pick up the pace soon!

Sounds like you really need a trip!!!! Time to make some time for yourself Marv so you don't turn into a crabby Patty- well in your case a crabby Marvy.

Wow I am waaaaayyyyy behind in replying to this update! I have been so incredibly busy that I nearly never have time for the DIS anymore. It's an atrocity, I know.

Reading that update brought back so many good memories. We had so much fun that day. I will never forget how much I was shaking at the end f ToT!!!! It was worth it though. Although I was forced to ride it again when I went back in November with Bubba. That was fun.......... I kinda regret not getting on that first ride of TSM with you and the boys. Stitch was really annoyed at the crowds and the way people work acting. Guess its pretty shocking when you see the pandemonium for the first time.

Hope you and the family are well, Marv!!!!

Well, that doesn't sound like much fun. Sorry it's been a drag lately.

I think they are going to just a soft opening with no actual- wait for rope drop. The FP enforcement sure did make touring different.

So I should show up at DHS at 6 a.m.?

I think the NYE trip I was there by 7:44 for an 8 am rope drop and everyone was already in. I asked and they said they were ready early so they opened. Trying to prevent the TSDash I guess.

Get there at 6 am and let us know how it goes.... I will wait here and sleep a bit longer.

Well, there is only so much preparing someone for that craziness and they just have to experience for themselves to understand.

Well things have continued to be extremely busy lately. Not only that, but currently no internet service at home so that sorely limits my DIS time.

Plus we just got back from going up to see Matthew Tuesday and Wednesday. He left Wednesday morning for his first deployment since joining the Navy out of college and is currently somewhere on the High Seas headed for the Middle East! Hopefully they took really good care of him today since it is his 23rd Birthday! Man how time flies........

Chapter 7 – Lunch at 50s Prime Time



After we parted with Jen and Stitch the boys and I headed over to ride Star Tours. While we were in line I got a message from Alison that she was arriving at the park. After we finished riding Star Tours we headed towards the Sorcerer’s hat to meet her.

This day started off a little steamier and we weren’t in the mood to do too many active things. The boys wanted to ride some more rides until time for our lunch ADR at 50s Prime Time so I gave them a time and location to meet back up with us. After doing some pin shopping and an inside ride on The Great Movie Ride, we headed back to our rendezvous point and got something cold to drink and waited for the boys to arrive.

We arrived early for our 12:50 lunch ADR at 50’s Prime Time! I checked in and we settled into some available seats to wait. While I was standing there I was checking out the area for any Hidden Mickey’s and took a picture of this one I had seen on previous trips.

Usually it takes a while to get seated here, even with an ADR, but we got lucky this day and only had a short wait. We were escorted by one of our Cousins to a table in one of the smaller areas. There was a family already there with the adults at the table right beside me, and all the kids at another table nearby. Right after we were seated another group of 4 was seated at another table nearby. They immediately got into the fun that goes along with dining at 50’s Prime Time, and I knew we were going to have a good experience since all the Cousins coming in and out of the room were all into their roles.

We got our drinks and placed our order. As everyone around us was interacting with our Cousins and having fun, I looked around the room and spotted this on the wall. I thought it was interesting we were in the room with the South Carolina plate.

We got our food about the time the table next to us was finishing up and ordering dessert. I of course began to take pictures of the food before anyone could dig in. Here is my Pot Roast

Jonathan and Andrew both had the grilled chicken sandwich

Alison had the fried chicken

When I had finished taking my food porn pictures the man at the table next to us leaned over and asked if I post on the DIS or one of the other Disney sites. He knew immediately why I was taking all the food pics. I told him I was on the DIS and he said that he also frequents the DIS but seldom posts. He would be on the lookout for my TR and I told him he would have to come out of lurkdom and say hello when he saw it. Hopefully after this long he hasn’t given up looking and finds his way over here.

The family next to us was three generations and included a grandmother who was a DVC member, and they happened to also be staying at OKW. We talked quite a bit and they were an extremely nice and fun family. The grandmother hadn’t finished her “vegetables” during her meal (I got the impression this may have been on purpose) and when the desserts were brought out to everyone, this is the special dessert that was brought for her to enjoy.

Nothing quite like a mashed potato, greens and m&m pie to finish off a good meal!!! I can't believe they neglected to add the cherry on top of the whipped cream though........

We really enjoyed our meal as usual, and the whole room was really into the “playing” with our Cousins that goes along with eating at 50s PT. There were numerous people in our little area and the area beside us that kept getting into “trouble” for different things. Andrew really got into it this time but almost had to beg to get put in the “corner” for his behavior, but he finally got his wish.

After all that food and the heat we quickly used up our FPs we had gotten earlier and decided to head back to the room. We opted for an afternoon at Typhoon Lagoon and while I was waiting on everyone else to get ready to go I decided I would take that opportunity to get a couple of pictures from the balcony of our room since I hadn’t done so earlier in the trip.

We had planned to head back to DHS that evening and see Fantasmic, but after we got back from Typhoon Lagoon we were all pretty much wiped out and opted to have a quiet evening in to relax and rest up for more heat the next day.

I went years ago and did not have too much but we did have a little fun. Maybe the cm were not sure how far.to push us


You said Andrew got put in the corner. Why do I think you neglected to mention all the trouble you got in.
