Rides Question

Hello everyone,
So I've been readying a lot of the Disney Books and I've noticed something..there's not much for the very little ones to do..I understand that Disney is really meant for the age 7 and up group but we are bringing my son who will be 14 months at the time and I really want to be able to take him on some of the more tamer rides with us..I don't want us to always have to do the parent swap in order to go on things..I use to work for a resort and as long as the mother/father/guardian could safely hold on the the little one it was fine to go on the rides..Is this the case at WDW? I know he won't be able to do the scary rides but things like it's a small world, some of the pooh rides, just some of the smaller ones even like Dumbo..can he sit on my lap? otherwise i feel like i'm going to be sitting back watching everyone else have fun if he cant and that would really ruin the trip for me..thanks for the help!

I had the same question...My twins will be ALMOST 3 when we go and they're small so they don't meet most of the size requirements.

I'm under the impression that if a ride doesn't have a resrtiction...Like IASW or Pirates then you can carry them on...or in my case mine can ride. But I'm not sure...

My DS(6) was 21 months the first time he went to Disney and I was able to take him on any ride without a height restriction. He went on every ride in Fantasyland, POTC, the Jungle Cruise, Buzz Lightyear, even the Haunted Mansion. He is small, so he still has several rides he hasn't been on, but if the height requirement is not posted at the entrance, small children can ride.

You will be able to take your little one on most of the rides. My youngest went at 3mths and 15mths and I held her on all of the rides that didn't have height requirements. Disney has more rides without a height restriction than with one. There are also movies and shows and parades that will be just fine for your family.

Really there is very little that is restricted from young children. I've taken DD at 15 months, 2.5 years, 3.5 years, and 5 years. We've always had more to do than we've had time to do it. Almost every ride in Fantasyland is good for small children. You might feel a little uneasy about taking your baby on Dumbo or the Teacups, but that's up to you. There's no restriction against doing so. Toontown is great. Goofy's Barnstormer is the only thing there that your 14 month old couldn't do. At all the parks, I'm sure you will find there is more your baby could do than couldn't.

There is a lot for little kids to do! DD went at 11 months, 16 months, 26 months, and we'll go again just before she turns 3, and DS has been at 6 months and we'll go when he's 15 months. They both went on everything we could take them on. DD just started to be fearful of Snow White this last trip, but she liked POC, HM, and others. She loved Jungle Cruise and Buzz Lightyear. We spend most of our time at the MK, though we did visit all of the parks with them.

He can do everything that doesn't have a height restriction - which is not that many rides. My ds was 6 months old on his first trip and my dd celebrated her 1st birthday. They went on every ride and saw every show that did not have a restriction.

My daughter was 2 the 1st time we took her -and she had a blast. There was plenty that was little kid friendly. Small world, Winnie the pooh, people mover, etc. Then the shows like Philharmagic and the parades were great. At such a young age (my son is now 15 months) people watching is a big thrill - and since there is so much to see with such vivid colors, your little one should be ok with a good amount of options.

Agree - Can do MOST things: Examples of what can be done (but not complete list):
MK: Dumbo, IASW, Pooh, Peter Pan, Teacups, Country Bear Jamboree, Pirates of Car, Carpets of Aladdin, Dream show in front of castle, both parades, Buzz Lightyear, Monsters Inc Laugh floor, Hall of Presidents, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Pooh's playful spot, Ariel's grotto, Donald's boat, Tom Sawyer Island, Carousel
Only things cannot ride: Space Mtn, Splash Mtn, Goofy's Barnstormer, Big Thunder Mtn RR
I left Snow White's Scary adventure and Haunted mansion off the list - no height restrictions but might be too scary for a small child.

I'm sure I'm missing some things but this will give you an idea of how MOST things are to be enjoyed by all ages.

Everyone else has covered the rides, but I also wanted to add that there are other wonderful areas for the littlest kids besides the rides! Ariel's grotto was my daughter's favorite with the water squirters, but there's also Donald's boat in toon town, Pooh's playful spot, and some quieter corners elsewhere in the park for little ones to explore! What are everyone else's favorite spots for little ones in all of the parks?
