Hi Everyone! My dad, at 51 has never been to WDW and I think next year we will take him and mom. He is a rather large man at 6' and 300ish lbs. When we went to Cedar Point they were less than discreet about him not being able to fit on the coasters. He was so embarassed it broke my heart. He is a little worried about it happening again and I just want this to be a really great vacation. Anyone out there give me some reassurance on what rides he will be able to do? Can he ride Space Mountain, RnRc, EE, etc.? He is actively working on losing weight, but just in case. Someone calm my fears please!!!! :guilty:

He should be fine. Some of the rides (Everest I know of for sure) has a test vechile that you can try out discreetly.

WDW is friendly to pooh sized folks.

He should have no problem. Disney is made for all types of people. However, one may have trouble on certain attractions such as Dumbo, and others of the such. I am sure he will be fun and have a great time. :thumbsup2

Up until a couple years ago, I was 6' and 300 lbs. and I fit on all the the coasters, ToT, MS, TT, all of them.

Since then, I have lost 55 lbs (and still shrinking) and fit in them even better.

Your dad should be fine. :thumbsup2

Ditto what Devil Dog said.

I've never felt uncomfortable on any of the Disney rides. The only one that feels slightly uncomfortable is Space Mountain, but that's kind of part of the design I think.

I think Disney does a great job of making their rides/attractions friendly to everyone of all shapes and sizes.

He should have no problem. One thing about Disney is that they realize that people come in all shapes and sizes and build their rides accordingly. Have a wonderful time! :thumbsup2

My DH is a bodybuilder and has hard time fitting his shoulders inside certain rides... so we can in the way relate to the problem. But, as someone said here, a lot of rides have try-out seats and your Dad can discretely check them out. I am sure he and your mom will have a magical time there!

I'm a fat guy (shorter but heavier than the OP's Dad), and I have no problem on Dumbo at all. No problem on any ride, in fact, although we didn't ride any of the coaster-type rides.

Definitely check out the allears.net link that bekkiz gave you. Lots of pictures of the ride vehicles, and comments on the rides.
