Can someone tell me if these rides would scare my 2.5 yr old. He doesn't like the dark or loud noises. I know the rides that are also at WDW, but these are new to me. Thanks!

Pinocchio
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Alice ride
Roger Rabbit Car toon Spin
Monster's Inc ride
Golden Zephyr

Based on your description, I would avoid Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. It's dark and scary (for a kid that age). Alice is considered a "dark" ride too as it is inside in the dark. Same thing for Pinocchio.

Have you tried looking for videos on YouTube to get a sense of what the rides are?

I've never done Roger Rabbit or Monster's Inc or Golden Zephyr. Can't help you there!

Pinocchio, Mr. Toad's and Alice are all at least partially in the dark. In Alice there is a very large Queen of Hearts yelling "Off with their heads!" Pinocchio also has some scary parts. I'd avoid those if your son is afraid of dark and loud noises. Ironically, I think of all the rides you listed (though I have not been on Golden Zephyr or Roger Rabbit so am excluding those), Monsters, Inc. is the least scary! :) There is a short period in the dark (not pitch dark but dark with low lights along the walls) but otherwise is pretty harmless, especially if he has seen the movie and is familiar with the characters.

Yeah, Mr. Toad is pretty scary. There is a part where you "die" and go to "hell". My sister said to my 3 yo niece "Oh look, we're going to the sun, isn't it hot?" LOL

First 5 rides on your list are dark rides, but I agree with PPs that if your child likes Monster's Inc., that is definitely the least "scary". Haven't been on Golden Zephyr, but it's an outdoor ride. I believe it's one of those that lifts and spins like Dumbo or Astroorbiter, except the vehicles for Golden Zephyr have multiple rows of seats.

Your son may also like Heimlich's ChooChoo in Bug's Land in DCA and some of the other rides in that land. They are all outdoors and fully visible and fairly tame.

Pinocchio: Dark and can be loud/scary (Monstro)
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride: Dark, loud and scary
Alice ride: Dark, not too scary
Roger Rabbit Car toon Spin: Loud, not too dark
Monster's Inc ride: not scary or dark
Golden Zephyr: outside and spinny like astro orbitor

Good idea checking youtube, I'll do that.
My DS doesn't know Monsters inc yet, but he will b4 we go. It's one of my favorite Pixar movies.
I am aware of Bug's Life area, Storybook ride, & Casey Jr train. I know he'll like those.
Thanks everyone for the help! I'll take any other suggestions!

The Golden Zephyr is much gentler than the Astro Orbiter or the Silly Symphony Swings. There's really nothing to it--you get in large, heavy vehicles on cables and they gently "fly"/spin around in a circle. Certainly no darkness and I think you'd have to be very prone to dizziness or maybe exceptionally afraid of heights/water or something to find it scary.

I don't like heights but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's maybe a little more intense than a carousel, IMO, and you'll be sitting right next to your son. (It's styled after rides that were popular around the early 1900s. I like it for that reason, but it's pretty tame.)

It often doesn't run, though--if it's at all windy, they can't run it.

DS2 didn't care for dark/loud rides but he liked Monster Inc and the outside portion of Alice. Check out the rides on you tube, get him started on the Monster Inc ride, then gradually move on to Alice, RR, and Pinocchio. DS2 didn't like Mr. Toad at all, mainly due to the scene where you get run over by a train and end up in hell.

As for the Golden Zephyr, if your boy likes the swing, he'll like it.

Golden Zephyr sounds good. We like Dumbo. I hate astro orbitor. It makes me sick, so it's good to hear Zephyr isn't fast like that.
I think we'll skip Toad's ride for sure. I may even have DH ride it to see if it's okay for our 5 yr old.
