We are going to Disney this weekend for my 2 1/2yr old daughter's first trip to WDW. She has been watching the Disneyland music video and asking us if she can go on all of the rides she sees. I have been to WDW many times but never with a child.

What rides can she go on in the Magic Kingdom? What rides did your kids this age enjoy (also in other parks)?

Really, at the MK, the only rides she can't go on are the Mountains (Space, Splash, Big Thunder) and Alien Encounter. They may not let her on Goofy's Barnstormer. When our son was that age some CMs would let us on, others would not. You'll be allowed on all of the other rides in the park but if your child has a problem with scary things you might want to skip the Haunted Mansion, Snow White's Scary Adventures and, perhaps, Pirates of the Caribbean.

Hope that helps.

Our dd was 2 when we visited last year and she enjoyed all the rides she went on except Universe of Energy(too LOUD) and the 3-D attractions. She always talks about IASW and PotC but I think her all time favorite was Buzz Lightyear-she rode it 3 or 4 times when we were there. She slept through Snow White and seemed to enjoy the Haunted Mansion. It rained the day we went to AK so Kilamanjaro Safari was the only ride we did and she liked that one, too. When you are at Epcot take a change of clothes and a towel so she can play in the fountains. Have a great time:D

If the Disneyland Music Video you are referring to is the Disneyland Singalong, then I believe they also show the Matterhorn, which is only in Disneyland.

It also shows a lot of Tom Sawyer's Island, which they have at MK, but I think much of it has changed or is off-limits now.

It might also show the Skyway, which is no longer in MK or DL.

We just came back and my DS is 2 1/2. He loves Buzz, Small World, Pooh, Dumbo, Peter Pan and many more. Goofy's Coaster has height resriction which is 36 or 37" which my DS makes.

The height restriction for Barnstormer is only 34".

Should be perfect for a 2 1/2 year old, assuming that she is willing. As with anything else, I wouldn't force it if she has reservations.

There are no big drops on the coaster, but you do get a lot of twists and turns. All said, the ride is only about 45 seconds, and at least a third of that is just going up the first hill.

Our first trip our youngest was just barely two-and a short one at that. LOL
Her favorites were Animal Kingdom (the shows, kilamanjaro safari, one of those baby rides near the dinosaur -can't for the life of me remember the name- you know.... the carnival type area LOL, the animals, the characters there happened to be more her style- pooh, piglet, etc.) and MGM (again the shows, the "train" ride, the larger than life ants area -whatever that is called. Man where is my memory..... LOL)

Those two she really "dug", even at her age. Epcot didn't interest her much but probably will this year. Shockingly she didn't enjoy Magic Kingdom as much but that is probably because either A) she couldn't ride the ride as little as she was so we just had to pass her over to the other parent on each ride- not much fun for her. or B) if she COULD ride, it scared her to death. LOL She did like the Small World ride though. :)
Or maybe it was because we went to Magic Kingdom ON Christmas day and it was so packed it was unbelievable. The other parks were not as packed the following days. That might have had an effect on it. Not that she is scared of crowds- but we were all stressed out and feeling claustrophic on that day. We also didn't get to see many characters because if we saw them- there was a huge long line and usually if we stood in that line they'd leave before we got to the front of the line. Which is really no fun for kids at all. LOL

She would probably love the train in MK.
Small World
Donalds boat (if it is running) squirts water at you in places.
Dumbo
Tom Sawyers Island
Swiss Family Treehouse
The Tiki Room
Aladins magic carpet
she will probably love Minnies House and Mickeys too in toontown.
Minnies house is interactive, with things to open, and explore
Indy cars
The Carrousel
Winnie the Pooh
And many other things she would love.

But the first time we took DD at 4 yr old all she wanted to do (when she found out you could) was hunt down characters and get autographs. I think that visit we got like 75 autographs!
And many wonderful pictures!
btw snow white ride scared my dd at 4, so be careful of that one. Had to do with the evil stepmother/witch being in the ride.

Thanks for all of the info on the rides. It brings up a good point. My DD is short for her age. She is only 31 inches so she might be unable to go on some of the rides.
