Just reporting as last week some mentioned that they had to show FP+ for everyone in the party to get a rider swap ticket. I went to Magic Kingdom today and they didn't check anyone's FP+. They do have a new way they are giving the ticket though. Instead of giving a ticket right away, the CM will hand you a lanyard that says it is for rider swap and each attraction has a picture of the ride on it (large laminated card). They don't give the actual rider swap ticket until you get up to the loading area and hand them the lanyard. It doesn't matter to them if the first party goes standby or FP, but the key is the party won't get the rider swap till they get to the front of the line.
(As confirmed, the waiting party and too small child were not allowed to enter in the line and needed to wait outside attraction for first party to finish).
Also interesting is that all the new rider swap tickets are valid until the end of the month. All of the ones issued today had an expiry of August 31.
The CM at each ride went over that this is the new way rider swap works. I will check it out tomorrow at Animal Kingdom.
