hi. I have some questions on rider swap.

if we have 2 adults and 2 children, but one doesn't want to ride California screamin, can we do the rider swap like this:
DH rides with child 1, while I wait with child 2. Then when its my turn, can child 1 ride again with me now? (ie child 1 rides twice in a row)?

also, is the rider swap available on all rides? both our children do not want to ride haunted mansion or space mountain. Can we do the rider swap like this:
DH rides, while I wait with both kids. Then I ride while DH waits with both kids.

Is one of the children too short for the height requirement? If so, then yes it will work like you stated. The child can ride twice or neither child rides. There isn't rider swap for haunted mansion since there isn't a height requirement.

It is true you can only do rider swap on rides with height requirement, but it's worth noting that the kid who doesn't ride does not have to be too short to ride. DS hated Matterhorn and Screamin for years and we did rider swap to take DD on though DS was well over 4ft tall.

Can any one confirm how many people can return for rider swap? I been given two different answers repeatedly. I've been told total of 2 people and I've been total of three people as it is in WDW.

Thanks!

It seems logical that you would be able to rider swap with any child up until the age of 14 (when they are technically old enough to be in the park alone). Does anyone know if there is an actual cutoff and what age it is?

I know for sure that we were NOT able to get a rider swap when my son was 6 (tall enough to ride) but too scared to ride Space Mountain.

It is 2 at DLR. Depending on the length of the return queue, it may be faster to use single rider for the second parent if it's available.

When we used rider swap with our friends who had a newborn at the time we were able to use it for three of us on many attractions. We were told it was good for one row or ride vehicle.

It seems it was just changing over to three people when we went in early December. All of the passes said they were good for three people and we used three every time, no problem. It was really nice because both of out older boys got to ride everything twice. The cms said it was a new policy

The rider swap passes have changed and now look more like a print out with the date on it and they are good for 3 people (per the swap card)

We were there in November and did the Baby Swap using fastpasses as well at RSR since our youngest is too short to ride, my dh took our three oldest kids while I waited and then I took our two boys right after with the swap card my daughter could have gone with us since I had a fast pass for the same time frame but she chickened out after one ride, so the boys got to ride twice. It did have a very specfic return time.

Having a return time is a change, they used to be usable all day, which was nice. What is the window now?

Fastpasses have a return time, not the rider swap, just to clarify. The rider swap has the date printed on it now,

I think the fastpass window is an hour, but hopefully somebody knows for sure.

Oh ok thanks. Yes FPs have a 2 hour return window that DL now enforces. Child swap cards do not have a return window, which makes them like nonexpiring fast passes. It's a nice perk and it sounded like Disney had closed that loophole but luckily not.

Okay so that explains why I was getting so many different answers, a new policy change. So it looks like the policy is the same as wdw now. They give you a slip similar to FP but its rider swap good for up to 3 people and it is dated. Got it! Thanks that great. I won't have to choose between the two kids that meet the height requirements, that's not fun when they both love a ride and the you went last time so its his turn kinda sucks too LOL.

Thanks!

hi Both my kids are tall enough to ride the rides., but one likes roller coasters and one does not. so can we still do the rider swap?

It has been my experience that they will NOT give out a Rider Swap card when the child meets the height requirements, but is too scared to ride.

I'm confused about using rider swap with fast pass. If parent #1 enters the fast pass line (with a current fp of course), will he/she still be given a riderswap card for parent #2?

Yes, if you ask & usually have to show the too small child. DH & I have done this before. He goes through with our 3 who are tall enough, using 4 of our 5 fastpasses (soon the little one will be getting one). I go up with him, show them that I am waiting with the LO and they give him the card - sometimes it's there, sometimes further in the line. When he gets off I can use the remaining fastpass plus the rider swap to take the 3 kids back on.
