Hello!

Does anyone know if there's a list of ride seat heights and leg room availability somewhere? I looked at the photos on AllEars, and they were helpful, but having the actual numbers would be great.

I had a total knee replacement in 2008 and as a complication now have a short patellar tendon, which causes restricted range of motion, instability, and considerable (!) pain.

We're having a family reunion at WDW next fall, and I'll be ECV'ing it around the world. It will be fabulous just to be there, but I'd really love to be able to ride at least a few of the rides.

I know rides like Space, Astro Orbiter and RnR are out, but I'm hoping to be able to ride POTC and some of the other boat rides. Seat height is an issue because the lower the seat, the deeper the required knee bend, and the more pain getting up. I'm thinking leg room might be an issue on rides like the safari at AK. (I might be able to get around it by sitting next to a family member and extending my leg over theirs when necesary.)

I'll also have to have the moving walkways slowed and maybe stopped (won't know that until I try it). Can the Peter Pan walkway be slowed even though it can't be stopped?

Thanks in advance for any information!

i would be willing to beat my life that sue has that info in The disabilities faq she has every thing you could ever need to know about disney. Peter pan walk way can not be slowed or stopped also the people movers walk way can't stop or slow down either.

If you check page 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there is a post about each park that includes estimates of steps down, etc. to get into ride cars.

I have many pictures of ride cars posted on my WDWINFO.com photo album (and literally hundreds more on my computer that are not posted yet). I try to include the floor on the picture, so you can get an idea of floor height.

The reason Peter Pan doesn't stop is because the ships would be dangling up in the air. However you can go to them before the park closes and ask to be the last rider of the night and they will stop the belt after everyone is off. My oldest daughter loves this ride but is unable to stand and walk so she makes arrangements with the cm to be the last rider of the night and loves it.

Thanks, everyone...I'll check out the FAQs and pictures, and I'll definitely use the tip for riding Peter Pan...it's a favorite!

Hi, I was at Disney last December with a severe hip problem with pain and restricted range of motion so I understand your concerns. The one ride I can say won't work is Space Mountain which you mention. It sits WAY too low and requires quite a bit of bending your leg to fit. I tried to get in and got stuck - had to get out (with effort) and let my son ride by himself.

I will say the BEST fitting coaster was Expedition Everest. You sit very upright like it a nice supportive chair with plenty of leg room. Also Safari was fine too although all of them bounce around alot. That can sometimes be a big problem if you have joint pain.

Good luck! i had my hip fixed 4 weeks ago and now I'm pain free with a trip planned for early December. This time no walker!:surfweb:

Not an expert in this by any means, but I think if you can comfortably and safely bend your legs at a 90° angle to sit, you should be pretty good.
