Ride Questions

I posted a few months ago about ride capacity. We are a family of 5 (me,DH, DD13, DS10, DD7 - ages at time of trip). I know we won't be able to go on some of the rides together (I had hoped we would be able to, but I'm not sure). So my question is....if you have to split the family is it better for the kids to get on before the parents or after? I've never been to WDW so I'm not sure how the rides "let out" . I assuming that if they went first we'd be right behind them...is this true?

For rides like Dumbo it wouldn't be a concern, ovivously. I'm thinking more like Buzz or Peter Pan .

Any suggestions or tips for a major worry-wart?

You are correct, for most of the rides the ride vehicles are close together so you would be right behind them. For the examples that you gave... Peter Pan and Buzz Lightyear...both rides are set up so that it is one big loop, all the vehicles are attached to one another. You would be directly behind your children (with visible site) the entire time.

The types of rides where you would not be in the same ride vehicle are set up like that. Otherwise for example you would be in row one and they would be in row two of the same vehicle.

You do have some rides (like Mission Space) where the capsule only holds 4 people but, you would be on the same "ride" as there are 10 capsules per ride cycle. So you would be on the same "ride", with the same exit.

Just remember when you get to the CM at load to tell them you are a party of 5 (not 2 and 3) that way they will make sure you are as together as you can be.

On most of the rides, the next "vehicle" will arrive at the exit point within seconds. So even if you are in separate ride vehicles it should be easy to find each other after the ride. I'm not sure about Mission Space, though.

I'd put the kids in the first vehicle. That way you know they're safely on the attraction and just let them know to wait for you when they get off.

of course, you could always split and put an adult in each group! we did alot of that on our last trip...

I didn't really think of this but I'm not sure how to do it. I don't want fights over who gets to sit with whom. I figured the youngest would sit with DH and I and the older ones could be by themselves. I'll have to give this idea some more thought. Maybe I'll talk to my oldest and get her input.
