With the new memory maker, how will they know that I am eligible to have the ride photos put on my magic band? Before you handed them the photopass + lanyard and they put it on, but now, how will they know?

I just walked up and said the picture number and when they brought it up I said "We have the memory maker" and they pushed some buttons and had me scan my magic band. Easy peasy! :) I like it SO much better than the lanyard!

Awesome thanks! wasn't sure how they'd know that you were eligible to get the pictures.

How does it work with linked family members? My Mom bought the Memory Maker, and we're all linked on MDE. Can I scan my band at RnRC even though she didn't ride and still have it go on the Memory Maker?

I would like to know the answer to this as well,
There are quite a few rides that I am a bit too Chicken to ride :scared1:, but my thrill seeking Daughter loves them.
Thanks
Mick

Duffy - yep. Anyone linked can scan their band and the pic will show up. We had 5 linked and split up a couple times ( wife & one daughter do not like ToT) so they ride Rockin again. They scanned for their pic n we scanned for ours. We took turns scanning.... The kids even fought over it! Lol

Just make sure that in everyone's MDE account, they have given permission to "share photos". It's a different checkbox than the one for sharing and managing plans. DH's wasn't checked by default, so all the pictures he had scanned to his band (mostly ride photos when he wasn't with me) were not showing up in my MM download. Once I went into his account and made that change, they were all there.

I've been looking for some information on this also.

What if the other guests in my reservation doesn't have a MDE account and all the MB and MM will be link under my reservation. Will those guests still able to scan their ride pictures without me there but I can still do the download to those pictures?

Thanks.

Hello, gtpoohbear!:wave2: What do you mean by everyone's MDE account? For example I have set up the MDE account for my family and added everyone. So therefore there is only one account, correct? Or am I missing something?

Hmm, if no one else has their own account it may not matter. If you click on each person under your Friends and Family link, and then click on a Manage Family and Friends, see if there is an option to select who can view their photos. If not, it may be set up so that you can automatically. Ours are separate accounts that are linked so it may work differently.

Hmmmm..... this Q/A on the MDE site makes me scratch my head:

Q.
How do I link an attraction photo to my Disney account so that I am able to download it with my Memory Maker purchase?

A.
Immediately after you have experienced a participating attraction, please visit the attraction’s Sales Center and link the photo to your Disney account. You can link the photo using any MagicBand or card linked to your account—including Memory Maker cards and Disney PhotoPass Cards.

Attraction photos can only be linked to your Disney account if Memory Maker is assigned to you. Your family and friends cannot link attraction photos to their Disney account.

Would I be able to do this since my band is linked on my mother's account, because we're Family/Friends and photo sharing has been enabled? Or not, because it has to be a band linked to her personally (my Mom is the "owner" of the Memory Maker)?

I thought that one of the actual advantages of the MBs and the longer range RFID is that pictures are automatically linked to your MB/MM+ account while you are riding. Isn't the MB scanned during the ride and the photo automatically linked to your account? That seems to me to be a big selling point of the MBs, that you wouldn't have to go to the photo desk at the end of the ride to get your photo.

DH had no trouble getting ride photos on his band, even though I "owned" the MM. At the time, he didn't even have photo sharing set up, but the pictures just showed up in his photo pass account, where he could have bought them. Once I enabled photo sharing, they were in my account too, and included in my MM download.

The process is very easy. After the ride, stop by the photo desk and tell them you have MM. They bring up your picture, scan your band and that's it. The whole thing takes less than a minute unless there is a line.

I think it's safe to say I've overthought this... We're prepared and it's all going to going to be fine...

Yeah no that's not true and only leads to years.
