Just wondering how many have used this and what your thoughts on it are??:scratchin

LOVE IT:thumbsup2 Used either nothing or "other" touring methods before...used RideMax last year on my first trip to DL, then decided to try it for WDW...have used it on 2 trips to WDW now....Even last year at Spring Break...when Easter was the same week as break...& it was crazy crowded...STILL rode everything we wanted, (more than once sometimes). They've added the shows to the new version so you can plan that as well. I will never go to WDW or DL without it again.

The only thing for a crazy over planner like me....is that you have to wait until your trip is about 4 weeks out before you can make your plans....So I use the unofficial guide to choose my parks/days, and then wait until Ridemax has them loaded up ti make my plan. I like that they use the most up to date info.

I also make several plans for the same day....We don't always arrive by rope drop...so I plan in 15 min increments...make a plan for arrival at say 9:00, 9:15 & 9:30....then depending on when we actually arrive, that's the plan we use.

I love that I can plan in my breaks, adr's, downtime (aka shopping) and still get everything done. If we want to ride something more than once, I just plug it in more than once.

Initially I thought, what the heck, it's only $20 or so...I'll give it a try.....My subscription is up in March....& you can bet I'll be renewing again & again & again.....

eeek - that sounded like a RM commercial - Sorry! didn't mean for it to go there...I just really really really love it

you posted that they have show times in there too. I was wondering if there is the parades? What is the Hollywood studio one like. I found that park hard to plan for with all the shows to see. I like the touring plans layout is it similar to that without the map? I'm not going till Dec is there much point in getting the year subscription or just wait and get the 90 day one?

Thanks for the tips

Not a fan of ridemax... they suggest following Saturday's printout for Sundays... Doesn't sound to great to me :rolleyes2

The previous version you had to plug in "free time" for your shows/parades, so it did make places like DS a little more complicated. However in the new release they have all the shows (DS, AK) and Parades too....You can even choose a particular show if you want/need to (ie - the 4:20 Indiana Jones show)...

After you select your rides/shows, breaks, meals, start time/end time. It "makes" your plan utilizing the best combination of rides/wait times/fastpasses etc...& then a new screen pops up and it's created like a "list" - does that make sense? with times and things listed. You will still need a park map if you're not familiar with the parks.

It even gives you a choice of your touring speed.....normal or slow ( I would choose slow if you're not familiar with the park layouts)...& gives you the optionof your whole party going to get the fastpasses or sending a runner (we send a runner - that's why I HAVE a teenager! :rotfl: )

Another vote for I love it. I have paid for all the other subscriptions guides available and RideMax is by far my favorite. As someone else mentioned they do not gather statistics for Sunday, but they do suggest an alternate day's plan for Sunday. That worked fine for me.

I really like that RideMax plans are completely cutomizable and up to date.

Have you tried it? NOt trying to fan a fire or start an arguement.....but I've tried it using Saturday's schedule for Sunday & it works just fine.

However, to each his own...I've tried TGM & that didn't work for me, yet it does for many.

Does it have height restictions too. so you know if this is a ride you might have to child swap on? Is it worth getting now or should I wait closer to my date in December??

Height restrictions are listed where you choose which rides to put in your plan. They are not listed on the generated plans. You would need to note them on your plans if you need that info at the park.

You can wait until closer to December to get it. You could buy it amonth or two out to get familiar with how it works and then make your actual plans a few weeks out.

it's a download so does that mean I can use it on more than one computer? Once installed does it have to have an internet connection to work? How long has it been around for?

I can answer two of those questions. It is a download and they allowed me to have it on two computers for my personal use. My desktop where I do all my planning and my DH's laptop that would be travelling with us.

Yes. You need an internet connection for it to work.

They are on version 6.0 of the software, so I am guessing it has been around for a while.

I have not used it at the parks yet, but from what I have seen while playing with the currently available dates is impressive.

The look of the software is pretty generic and could use a graphics face-lift IMHO but it functions well. When you launch the program, it gets online to get the date information.

As someone else mentioned, purchase this about 1 month out from your trip as it only works a couple of months in advance of your trip. This is because Disney does not put out much of the information till then such as important things like Hours, Show time, Fantasmic days etc.....

I just purchased Ridemax a couple of weeks ago for our Feb trip, and I'm having so much fun with it. I agree with everything that has been said. Also worth mentioning, if you can wait until just a few days before your trip they have the time schedule for all of the World Showcase shows (Off Kilter, Chinese acrobats, etc.). Just like on the Steve Soares site, the show times are updated on Saturday for the following week, so if you are leaving on a Saturday then you can just go by the week previous.

Also, great customer service. I e-mailed a question on a Saturday and got a response within an hour.
