Ride Intensity/ Stomach drop factors?

Sorry but I’d like to disagree with you on Splash - the little drop inside in the dark is worse than anything on Space Mountain, and the big drop has literally given me a recurring nightmare for the past several years (which I hope once I brave a ride on again next week will go away.) If you don’t LIKE the stomach drop feeling, avoid Splash and ToT. I can’t speak for EE but all the other rides are totally fine. OP and I seem to have the same drop sensibilities - little stomach flips are fun, big drops are too intense.
Yea I'm definitely skeptical about Splash. RnRC I might risk just because the rest of it looks so fun and fast, and maybe even EE, but I dont know if I can justify it for a ride that is specifically drops. The dark ride section is not enough to convince me. In fact, some of my childhood ptsd about this subject has to do with going on a log flume in Kings Dominion when I was younger and not realizing until two late that you get the coaster feeling. And THEN realizing there was a bigger drop later on.

Mission Space doesn't have a "drop" feeling, even for orange. It does have g-forces against your chest but not that 'stomach falling' feeling. I don't recall it being bad on EE - a bit of backwards and standard moderate roller coaster. If you can do Hagrids - which does have an actual drop (that I'm kind of dreading for our first trip back because I hate that feeling!) - and Space Mountain, then EE should definitely be fine.
Are you talking about the thing in the cave as the drop or the spike? Yea I have no problem with either of those. In fact I look forward to them (even having been front seat for the backwards drop).

Mission Space orange gives me a headache, green is okay for me.

ToT definitely gives you the stomach drop feeling, it is a free fall attraction similar to Dr Doom's Fearfall. On ToT I actually felt that I was not in my seat anymore, so I don't ride it anymore.

RnRC doesn't give me a drop in my stomach feeling, it's a very smooth rollercoaster. It has a fast acceleration at the beginning, but that's more of a pressed to your seat feeling than a dropping sensation.

Test Track (Epcot) may be something you would enjoy, too. No drops, or up and down parts, just speed.
Love Test Track!

In regards to Splash, I also have sensibilities to drops and have always felt that Splash is more manageable than Space, it is both partially outdoors and a full on water-based ride which IMO eases the feeling, I find drops on boats in the water to be more manageable than drops on a roller coaster. The OP also stated that they are comfortable with Space which IMO I consider to be a significantly more intense ride, hence the OP should be able to manage Splash Mountain.

In regards to Mission Space ORANGE, the OP stated that they have sensibilities to G forces and specifically cited launching sensations as an example, Mission Space ORANGE both physically simulates this launching sensation and creates significant G forces via a spinning centrifuge, both of which the OP expressed they are not comfortable with, I would hence not recommend this ride.

I totally agree about Hagrid's. The drop is really nothing. I think FEA has a bigger, well longer, drop.

I am a coaster wimp too. I hate the stomach-dropping feeling. I have ridden Splash, but I don't usually bother since I do not like the big drop. If I am with people that want to ride it, I will ride it, without pouting.

I love Everest, BTMR, 7 Dwarves Mine train. Will not ever do Tower of terror again (rode twice to make SURE I hated it). I do ride RnRC but the launch is my least favorite part. It is so smooth and dark I had NO idea I was going upside down. I don't ride Space at WDW as I find it too jerky (I am a California girl and our Space Mountain is much smoother with a much roomier ride vehicle.) Everest has banked curves so you are dropping, but I don't ever get that stomachy feeling.

Having read all the posts it shows the difficulty in trying to categorise rides as we all experience different reactions to them.

I love RnRC, with the beginning being the best part for me, and it's a must do every visit. EE is another favourite, I still remember the first time I rode it and came to the mangled track section, it was so exciting not knowing what was ahead. I think it helps when rides have stop/start sections as it gives you a chance to get your head and stomach together before it sets off again.

I find the dip in Splash Mountain stomach-churning but still ride it with my family as we like to see who get's the wettest. ToT is my sister's favourite so we ride that each time too, I find it stomach-churning when in freefall but the themeing and unpredictability of each ride programme makes it exciting too, and I love the times when everyone in your lift is laughing and screaming together.

Having said all that, I cannot manage Space Mountain, and flatly refuse to ride it again, it's not a smooth ride and feel all shaken up when I get off, we call it a 'bone-shaker'.

Mission space is another level for me. I've done green a few times, but the one time I almost tried orange, I chickened out when we were waiting to enter the pod and ran out leaving my sister to ride alone.

Some of our best attraction photos are when we (and other riders in the photos) are screaming or looking terrified and we still laugh at them years later.

I do get slightly nauseous on Everest, but I think that is because of the going backwards factor. I used to hate the stomach dropping feeling, which is why I didn't go on Tower of Terror until just a few years ago. I find that drop feeling to be relatively smooth and manageable. I don't do Rock n' Roller Coaster anymore because I find that to be a little too rough. Did Mission: Space Orange once (never again! Love the Green Team though!) I love Thunder Mountain and Mine Train. Definitely the "tamer" roller coasters for me.

I was really worried about TOT and Mission Breakout. However, I love Guardians, so I decided I would give Mission Breakout a try at Disneyland and loved it. TOT was the same. I usually hate drops, but something about those isn't quite as bad. I still have to hold on for dear life and look like I'm not having fun in pics. However, I do really enjoy them. I think if they were a full on straight drop from the top all the way down, it would be much worse.

It's all very individual, as you can see. Rock 'n Roller Coaster's launch is intense, but after that, it's easy peasy imo. Expedition Everest is a ride I only ride with my eyes closed during the scary parts- I go on it to please my son. I'm not terrified of it, but it does have big drops and disorienting backwards movement & I just don't enjoy being even mildly "roller coaster scared".

I have no issue with Splash Mountain or Big Thunder at all. I don't think Space Mountain is scary, but it's jerky enough to be a little hard on my middle aged body.

Mission Space is claustrophobic & spinning makes me ill, so I won't ever ride that one again. Aside from feeling sick & being nervous about the ride possibly breaking down & leaving us all locked inside that tiny space for an hour, it wasn't scary imo.

As a kid, I threw up on backyard spinning rides; again on a “spider ride” at a carnival. Airplanes and cruises weren’t my friends well into adulthood.

I Love Tower of Terror. I don’t resist when I am lifted from the seat.

Rock’n Rollercoaster - the forward motion keeps me feeling fine. And then an abrupt stop at the end reminds me what I just did to my body. But I am fine by the time I exit. I love that smooth, fast start.

Rode EE once ? or few times in a row ? years ago and then had to sit it out while the family continued riding. This must have been years ago, as i am sure B2B riding became unusual.

Couldn’t stomach the Star Wars ride-in-a-box /simulator.

SM - whiplash-inducing, otherwise fine. Actually got better after a refutshment years ago. Definitely not as smooth as DL’s, but not as neck-painful as DL Paris.

7DMT is just a bit easier than BTMRR in smoothness; love them both.

I haven’t thrown up from a ride (theme park, plane, or cruise) in years.

Hope you are so lucky have some great rides.

TOT (and Mission Breakout I believe is the same) pulls you down, it's not a normal drop so the feeling is a little different.
