Ride breakdowns while you were on it?

Ive got a few...

EE, Thanksgiving 07, right before the train goes backwards, we got stuck, and had to WALK down the inside of the mountain...CM's well all over making sure no one took any pictures, it was pretty crazy

POTC, got stuck in the unloading area, mechanism that carries empty boats back up was broken

Test Track, something was up with the car speed in November 08, slowed us down, b/c we were getting to close to the car in front of us

We were on Aerosmith on our last trip in November and it never quite broke down but I was expecting it to at any minute. When you start out and it counts down and then you fly out of there... well it counted down and we never moved... and then all of the sudden like 10 seconds later we took off. The entire ride we would slow down and then start up and then slow down... it happened right before the loop and I thought for sure we were going to get stuck upside down. This trip was the first time DD (7) got to ride it because she was tall enough. She had luckily been on it like 6 times before this particular ride during the trip but I was holding on to her thinking no matter what I had to do I was making sure she was securely in that seat! certainly not one of my better experiences on Aerosmith... and it's one of my favorites too! :sad1:

I don't think any of the rides we got stuck on were "broken down"...just backed up. It was just odd how MANY rides this happened on within 2 days: potc, iasw, buzz, hm, splash...I think that was all. They were never stuck for more than 10 minutes, it was just odd because I don't think that's EVER happened to me before.

The only ride we were ever on that broke down was the TTA. We just all got out and followed the cm. I dont walk fast and was holding up the line. I let the others go in front of me. The cm did ask if I was o.k. I said, yes, it will just take me a while etc. We all got a fast pass for any ride we wanted that day.

In June...two times on HM..once going doing backwards and once in the graveyard scene, right in front of the ghoul that pops up. The first time...nothing was said...nothing over the loud speaker...so I just assumed someone needed assistance. No big deal for me...for my younger kids...was a bit of a bigger deal, but they were fine. The second time going backwards...like someone else said, not a horribly comfy way to hang out for awhile. But there was a recording about the ghosts messing with our doom buggies. My 3 year old was in mine and he was just looking around at everything, totally didn't bother him in the least.

I was worried about breaking down in IASM....and we did sort of get backed up and stop near the end. I started laughing and thinking "oh boy...here we go!", but it started moving thankfully. Before we went, I'd read about someone getting stuck in there for 45 minutes. My dh said if that happened, he'd just wade out, lol.

This past summer (August 08) we were riding Expedition Everest and when we got up to the broken tracks it stopped and didnt move. I had ridden it like 7 or 8 times before so I wasnt too freaked out by it. Although I thought that it was just going to fly backwards and give me a heart attack lol. It kinda sucked though because the sun was reflecting off the "snow" and was burning my face. It felt like we were there forever. After the CMs came and got us and then lead us down like 22 flights of stairs inside the mountain. We got a fastpass to come back when they fixed it but we werent sticing around AK long that day (actually we only went to ride EE). We had EMH at MK that night.

Our DF was on Test Track twice last September when it stopped for some computer malfunction. The first time we were stopped right before they check the seatbelts and the other time just before you go flying out the door.
At least we weren't stuck in the ice chamber!! :cold:

My husband and I got stuck on Splash Mountain at the Laughing Place. It was the longest 10 minutes of my life. It did start up again though, no walking out.

Test Track....I was stuck for what seemed like forever in the HOT room. Then, the ride stopped abruptly several other times....especially outside on the fast part. I had whip lash by the end. When we finally made it back, the CM offered us another ride. DD was crying by then and said No Way.

Stuck forever in the Haunted Mansion. So long that my BIL yelled out "This isn't very magical!"

Stuck in POTC for about 15 minutes.

The worst of all was being stuck on Mission Space. It was extremely claustraphopic in there. I was with poor DD again. I had to hold it together in there for her sake, but I really wanted to claw that door open. Seriously. We were stuck in that tiny space for a very long time. I haven't been able to ride it since.

We were on COP once when it broke down. It just wouldn't turn any more. After several tries to get it going again, they gave up and we all left.

OMG I feel for you! Off topic but really how small of a space? I was never claustrophobic but for some reason now I cannot take being confined in small spaces (can't stand crawling through the tiny tunnels at kids playgrounds for this reason too so DH chases them). Should this be a ride I skip?

We were on TOT at Thanksgiving and at the end of the ride it stopped and the lights came on and we had about a 10 minutes wait. We were able to ride again with no wait. We took the back elevator to the front of the line.

Got stuck twice.

First on Splash Mountain. Boats stopped, voice came over asking everyone to stay in the boat. CM came around and we walk out of the ride. Kind of neat seeing thing behind the ride.

Second was Dinosaur ride in Animal Kingdom. Ride broke down all the lights came on. We had to get out of cars and walk out. My father started to take pictures but was stopped by CM. Could not believe how differnet ride looked with lights on. It is amazing what darkness hides.

One of our favourite "rides" - Mickey's philharmagic - broke when we were there in October last year. The pictures and sound didn't match up which felt very strange. We were all eventually asked to leave the theatre and were all given a fastpass good for any ride.

The worst thing was that we were just about to leave WDW for the airport for our flight back to the UK and we couldn't use the fastpasses. We decided that the next bride and groom we saw, we would give them our passes. We had been at WDW for our 25th wedding anniversary and had enjoyed a lot of pixie dust in the 10 days we were there and it was one way of giving something (however small) back. That's what's so great about WDW - that pixie dust is so infectious!

I think I would have been okay if I wasn't stuck on there. I had a lot of time to sit there and think about being trapped in a small space. It's a capsule, so you're shut in there. If you're the slightest bit claustraphobic, I'd skip it. It got extremely hard for me to breathe.

....Oh yeah. Someone mentioned Dinosaur. I've been stuck on that one too. I think I've been stuck on every ride at WDW. :upsidedow

Before the haunted mansion refurb me and my 3 year old DD got stuck on Haunted Mansion. I'd say we sat in the complete dark for about 20 minutes. A voice came over the speaker and said that there were some complications and to please remain seated. No, actually it said something like "Happy haunts have interrupted our tour." Something to that nature. It was a little unnerving. My 3 year old kept saying "Mommy, are you still here?"

50 minute on splash mountain!! :guilty: when we walked off they tried to give us fast passes for our next trip my DD nearly cried she wouldnt take them:lmao: we were trying to catch wishes but just heard the music instead

We got evacuated off of POtC a few years ago, snapped a few pictures too. We were stuck for 30-40 mins just at the "We wants the redhead!" scene. After 20 mins or so, the lights came on in the attraction, but it wasn't bright enough to really allow us to see the behind the scenes things.

It wasn't really too bad, eventually the CM's got into the water (wearing thigh-high rubber waders) and pushed the boats over toward a camoflaged door and people exited one row at a time. The most interesting part was seeing the CM area behind the attractions.

If you look closely at one of the pictures, you can see people exiting through the "exit" door.

We keep getting stuck on Winnie the Pooh the last time we were there. The bad part was they didn't stop the music! After listening to hefalumps and woozles for like 20 minutes I thought I was going to lose it.

This week while riding Splash Mountain, it stopped 3 times. Brer Bear and Brer Fox were causing some trouble downstream, and Mommy and DS were getting whiplash every time boats hit us from behind. Talk about a log jam! Hee Hee. Splash Mountain was walk-on that day by the way, even though it was 1pm. It was 50 degrees out. DS and I wore our $1 WalMart rain ponchos. Lots of people complimented us on being "smart." Not too smart though, I forgot to tuck it under me and when the water cannon hit us full on, the seat got wet and made me sit in the puddle. I walked around for the next 2 hours looking like I wet myself.:rotfl2:
