And yes, Bernie, that was quite a rude awakening!! I can sleep through most lightening (good blinds in the house) but not that thunder.

I don't have many threads I subscribe to, but I will say my pop up notifications for the PMs are working for the most part. Not very well last night though... so far today they seem to be good.

A gray day here today with a chance of thunderstorms tonight. I like a good storm but my one dog is very scared.

This morning I woke up to the sound of a jet going over the house. The fast, loud kind that we hear near the Oceana Navel Base. Ever since 9/11, this kind of sound makes me nervous. I don't know what it was.

I think I have the answer. PM sent.

Good morning all. I won't tell you about the fact that I got a nice nap on the float yesterday, but the water was only 86 and there was quite a breeze, so it was a little cold during the evaporation cycle!

When I went out this morning it was just like summer. The air is so thick you can feel it like a weight pressing against you.

Ah, Alabama in June...and it only gets better!

I came into work earlier today so I fed the animal companions before I came in.

Heaven's no, Diane! I may mock your lack of Wal Mart experience but not the dog showing!

I do mock the term "animal companion" when it is used by those who are so serious about concepts of dog/cat ownership, etc.

Normally those folks are just as opposed to showing dogs as they are to working dogs, so you and I would both be targets for their disdain!

Whoops..just re-read your post. You thought I was mocking your "do dogs" ritual! Of course not, I do it each morning too, but for some reason *today* I thought I would mention it.
