I specialize in neat coffees!!!!!!!!!!!! WE have some great coffee shops here in Pittsburgh. I found the butterscotch at a great coffe stand I pass. In my freezer right now I have a chocolate mint that is called after 8 and a niagra ice wine coffee that we got in Niagra on the Lake when we were in canada, expresso, plain cooffee, Starbuck's Holiday blend, Snickerdoodle, cherry cordial and I think A little butter rum!!!!!!!!!!!! ANd we ahve lots of places to choose from to buy fun coffee!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy Bernie!!

Jiminy......

For the love of coffee....you shouldn't store your flavored coffees in the freezer, the cold separates the oils from the beans. Fridge is fine, but freezer will break down the flavor quickly.


Just thought you should know....

No kidding Stephanie???? I have always read to store it in the freezer....WOW...I might have to move mine to the fridge then. I always store mine in the freezer and I'm bad - I grind at least a week's worth at one time. This year for Christmas I am going to ask for one of those coffee makers with the built in grinder if my grinder lasts that long!!!!

Yeah I was even told at the coffee shps to put it in the freezer. HUH...well I have a vacuum sealer and we got the jar attatchment so maybe I will have to vaccum seal it is jars!! Just trying to figure out where to put that many jars!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the tip!!!

Hi Chris...
There is a lot (A LOT) of debate about where to store coffee. Regular varietals and blends are okay in the freezer, but over time will break down the flavor. However, the flavored coffees are flavored using oils which are more susceptible to the cold, and separate from the beans.
I was going to get my mom one of those coffee makers for Xmas but have learned that they allow more humidity into the beans which will result in a more watered down coffee.
I doubt you'd really notice a huge difference, and the smell of freshly ground coffee makes up for it....IMO...LOL

Like I said, it's a huge debate in the coffee industry....I'm simply sharing our standpoint, from our own experiences.
The one thing everyone DOES agree on, is that coffee should be store in an air tight container....

That's good to know Stephanie....thanks for advice. I don't like REALLY strong coffee so maybe the grinder/maker isn't a bad idea for me...might help me some. I'll have to think about it now. I do love the smell of freshly ground coffee!!!!

Ooops..you all were replying while I was typing...so Stephanie - leaving it in the bag that I get it in isn't a good idea???? I didn't know that. I guess I need to clean one of my containers out and store it in there....thanks!!!!
