DblD - both of my parents were actually born in Ireland. They moved to Scotland when they were little kids. We moved from Scotland to America when I was 4. My sister was also born there. We became citizens soon after. I've been back a few times, but it has been far too many years since my last visit. I have relatives there I've never met.....
Gina - how was Thornberrys? I'm taking a week of in February and will be looking to take the kids to movies then....
Mahsha! I hope the crew can get this one!!! Cheesh - you'd think these financial wizards would get these numbers ones right away! (No pressure, Tommy! ) ....and you know me SO WELL, Mahsha!! LOL!

Carol - I'm not sure why I took that detour. I think it might just have been a three-year-old's fascination with trains! There was also a slaughterhouse on the way to Grandma's. I peeked my head in there once. Thankfully I don't remember much about it!

Good morning all! Pm sent, but Bernie's rootin' around right now so I'll have to wait for my pants and it is C-O-L-D!!! here this morning! It's -16ºC with a windchill of -30ºC, so I need my pants!
Thanks again for all of my birthday wishes yesterday! I had a lovely day especially since Len took the day off to be with me.
Have a great trip Laura and all of the other K's! I'm so jealous of you! This is the time of year we usually go too.
Our weekend is that I have to work both Saturday and Sunday. Len is going down to visit his parents and check on his Dad on Saturday. The kids will stay home since hospitals aren't great places for them and Michael has a date Saturday night to go skating on our canal (not quite as long as Ottawa's Mickey, but it is right under the world's highest hydraulic liftlocks
)

The talk about Martin Luther King Jr. Day reminded me of my friend.
She is 39 years old and just the other day someone mentioned that Martin Luther was the person who began the tradition of the Christmas tree.
She then said in a shocked tone "There have only been Christmas trees since the 60's?"
We all were ROTFLOL!!! We had to then explain about Martin Luther
The woman went to Lutheran schools all her life!!!! Guess she wasn't paying any attention!

DH, DS and I will be seeing TLK (IMAX) with the Chicago crew and I am really looking forward to it. Other than that we have no specific plans for the long weekend.

Wow, and we're complaining because it is going to be in the 30's all day!
