Riddle me this!!!! (Wednesday edition)

LOL! Here's an Italian who has no idea what San Giuseppe festa is!!!!

I don't know how the heck this happened....honest.

Care to share, Gail???

I sure know what zeppole are, though. Around here, they're fried bits of dough (nothing inside) covered with either powdered sugar or tomato sauce and a sprinkle of cheese (usually flatter if it's with sauce).

Hey, Steph.....don't I get TWO pairs of alternate pants????

I may not be dressed in the norm....but I'll take as many pairs of alternates as I can get!

Hey Gail... I never have a problem driving to Providence....actually I am going to a wedding there in June....but one of these Sundays... maybe we can pull some people together and meet for lunch.....especially as the weather gets better... Sounds good to me.. one hour to Providence and 25 minutes to NH border for me..

my neighbor just called and is on the way to the hospital with her DH (he is a frequent ER visitor....accident waiting to happen) he fell on the ice this morning and tore his knee open. Now they want ME to take their 95 pound German Shepard to the vet for surgery this morning.....sheesh.....

Like, call and cancel the surgery......but no...I'll go do it!!!! Something must be up with my boys this morning, both are up and showered and have breakfast (Patrick just walked in and asked if he should go get the paper)......hmmmm.......

we should meet in the North End of Boston.......

I'de watch them!! They definately WANT something!:p

If that happened in my house it could only mean 3 things.........either they broke something........did something wrong......or want $money$ :p

Now that would be cool.. we could have an Italian Dis Festival.... head to Mike's and eat some lobster tails and zeppolas and throw in a few cannolis or Cafe Victoria.. I am game....

Of course I have no clue on the riddle this morning.. but hey I am having fun..

I nominate Mahsha to organize a Boston North End meet....Heck, I can even convince my DH to do that one!!!

Just checked on my DS and he's having FOUR granola bars for breakfast....is that normal??????

I have a busy day ahead today, but it will be fun. We are going to go order our stove for the new house and a few of the plumbing things for the "outhouse" powder room. More on that little decor item later.:p

Hey Gina!!!!!!!!!!Come to Bahsten and pahty with Mahsha and all the other Dis Riddlers with funny accents...

We can have them put a shot of Zambuca in our coffee.........LOLOLOLOL

Today is St. Joseph's Day......highly regarded on Federal Hill in Provicence (a/k/a Da Hill)...also big in Little Italy....the North End....and anyplace Italian. He's the patron saint of family life, hand-labor, and carpenters. [In Italy, this feast is their Father's Day.]

A zeppole (zay-po-la) is an Italian pastry that can kill a diet in a few bites. It's a ring of pastry, about the size of a donut, that's either baked or fried...and filled with a custard (kind of like the filling in a boston creme pie) There's also the same cream or powdered sugar (or both!) on the top of the pastry ring along with a maraschino cherry.

It's traditional for St. Joseph's Day (March 19) and there are lot's of different ways of making them....and of course everyone thinks theirs is the "best" way.

AHHHHHH!!!! ST. JOSEPH'S CAKES!!!! We don't call them zeppoles. And I never thought about him being a carpenter!!! Thanks, Gail.

This old dog loves learning new tricks!

Mahsha.....love to have lunch with you guys with funny accents. But I believe it was Snowwark and her DH who listened to my first voice mail to them over and over, hysterical laughing at my accent. So....I can't throw stones......:p
