My sister is a teacher in Springfield, VA, Carol and she just told me that she's out of school for another day tomorrow as well ....
she's beginning to think she's stranded - they have yet to see a snow plow on her dead end road !!

I love radio contests and I'm pretty lucky at them from time to time .... the two best prizes I ever won were Billy Joel tickets and
5 hours in a limousine ...... for the Billy Joel tickets it was a "complete the line of the song" kind of contest - I knew the contest was coming when a friend was visiting from NH and I asked her if she wanted to come back for the show if I won the tickets ... boy was she surprised when I called her ! Used the 5 hours in the limo to be chauffered to NYC w/ some of my friends.
The limo guy actually gave us more than 5 hours and gave us a pretty good tour since he had to make a pickup down there later in the day anyway ... he got a good tip !

Hope the snow has finally stopped Steph ....... this storm was a long one !

spb, my brother left Bristol Monday at 2PM to drive to Vermont to go skiing this week. That was right in the middle of your storm, right? I think he is nuts.

I won a 10 speed bicycle on the radio once. More recently I won tickets to see Defending the Caveman.

Hmmm......I haven't done a radio contest in a while but about 2 years ago DS won a big package of baseball cards on Radio Disney.

I wish our timing was a little better too Carol.....who would figure I'd be in your "town" when you were heading out of town!

it is STILL snowing here.....I'm starting to lose my patience...LOL...at least I'm not stranded.....
We've watched the WDW planning DVD (very cool) several times; I know, it supposed to be no tv this week...but that doesn't count, right?
I never win anything on the radio...but I did win two all day ski passes last month on a local web-site.
Sandy..I got your PM....I'll let you know who your buddy is....they are finally trickling in.

Stephanie - I hope the snow stops soon for you. Everything is starting to melt here. I talked to my dad today. He lives in the Laurel Mountains near Uniontown, PA. They have at least 3 feet of snow!

Carol - What is Defending the Caveman ?

DS just showed his French Horn to me. He said it fell off his bed, and now there is a large crack near the mouthpiece. The instrument is owned by the school and it looks pretty beat up already. It may have even been soldered in that spot before. From what DS says, his teacher told him at the beginning of the year that something like this might happen. I don't mind paying to repair it since it "fell off" his bed, but I'm hoping the teacher is used to fixing it up and won't charge us much.
