We have entertained 12 for dinner at VWL in a 2bdr, which are exactly the same size as BW (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Not everyone got to sit at a table, but hey, if I wanted formal I'd go to the WIne Makers dinner during the Food & Wine Festival!

Seriously, you should have plenty of room with 4 adults and 3 kids in any DVC 2br. Like she said "It's not the size that matters, ..."

I know there's a lot of humor, sarcasm and tongue in cheek in this thread. I do however feel that the 2 BR at BW can be difficult from an eating standpoint when a large group is involved. While BW will technically sleep 8, it is more suitable for 4-6 people. OKW may or may not be one's cup of tea but it is more suited for the upper limits of capacity for the 2 BR compared to all other DVC resorts. Same can be said for the studios. For the other unit sizes I think it makes less difference.

Pollyanna - u will have a great time I am sure. U can take your kids to any WDW restaurant. We did Spoodles at lunchtime with a four and two year old (freebie on the DVC tour) and Flying Fish in the evening with the kids. They all have kids portions, except V and A's. I think in the Flying Fish they had proper fish and chips for the kids. I have to add that the Flying Fish is a bit pricey to take your kids to though.

When you stay at BWV you will have numerous excellent restaurants right outside your door. BWV is a deluxe resort and usually when people stay at deluxe resorts on vacation dining out at fine restaurants is definitely part of the vacation experience.
When you stay at OKW you will need the large kitchen and the dining table to cook your meals, wash the dishes, clean the kitchen etc., since there is only 1 restaurant at the resort, it is located very far away from many of the buildings and it is definitely not considered fine dining.

There might have been some Disney thought to building smaller dining areas in the DVC located so close to so many restaurants. While having the ability to 'cook in" was part of the original selling pitch of owning DVC and since Dis wanted to build as many sellable units as possible and space was/is an issue in the BWV, BCV and VWL, there might be some financial motive in making the dining areas in the later resorts smaller.

Several posters have already noted that if the two bedroom units are too crowded for meals for up to 8 people, just eat out. I'm sure that spending $$$$ in those "fine" Dis restaurants suits Dis just "fine"

Bottom line....most DIS'ers enjoy the posts by Rich ....Nobody is forcing anybody to read his posts Everyone knows all DVC resorts are "1st class". If Rich gets people to smile or laugh , what is the harm??

Anyway, I own at BWV - I love it. We're a family of 5 and yes the dining area *sucks* for a family of 5, but it's still a great resort. I'd be proud and honored to take another family with us to show off our home resort because of the numerous amenities. A BW view is a must for showing it off properly though . I love OKW - stayed there over December/January holiday and it can't be beat size-wise. It's a refreshing, quiet vacation whereas BWV is quick, loud and exciting. I'm visiting VWL (home resort, too) for the first time in exactly 9 days and look forward to experiencing that atmosphere also.

True. I don't know of anyone else who has had over one hundred people vote that they no longer want them to post on the boards. But that does not mean that posting a known lie saying that it is only 1 or 2 people shouldn't be corrected with factual information that shows it is over 100. That is all I have said, I just corrected this known lie with facts showing it to be false. Haven't said anything else. No reason to lie in posts.
