We have flown Southwest only for the past.....probably 8 years, direct flights to Orlando from Providence.

However, the price of my flights for October jumped overnight, which has been wondering if they are the only direct flights from Providence to Orlando?

Yes, SWA is the only direct flight airline from PVD to MCO :sad2: I have just purchased flights for the end of July 7/30-8/8 from Pvd to MCO and back. Prices actually DROPPED for me the closer I got to my dates. But prices in general are UP. We are flying out the last flight Saturday nite and returning on a Monday midday to get the best deal. I looked at other options but all other airlines have baggage fees and end up costing the same or more. :sad2: Joan

I know you didn't ask about other airports but another option is to drive to BDL in Windsor Locks, Ct. and book Jet Blue. All their BDL to MCO are non-stop, and there are still many $99 flights.
This will be our first time with JB and we are looking forward to the Sirius radio and TV's for the flight. Also, I won't stress over the seat situation anymore. We snagged $99 down and $124 back. We continue to check for the return flight to drop, but we're happy with the price.
Good luck in whatever you do.

Thanks guys. I did consider flying out of Boston (Ct didn't cross my mind) but by the time I pay baggage fees and gas/parking for an out of state airport I'm back to the original SW price. Luckily I have a friend who lives directly across from the new parking garage for PVD so that will cut down on parking

I can fly out of Providence or Hartford. SW are the only nonstop flights from Providence. From Hartford SW JB and there is a couple of Delta flights that are non stop. Sorry I don't know about Boston.

I agree with the OP--we flew SWA from PVD for at least the last 9 years. No questions asked, always the cheapest. Now, they are much more than SWA or JetBLue from BDL. Fortunately, BDL is only 20 mins. or so more in drive time from us, but the last two flights we booked from there. Wonder what happened this year for the prices from PVD to increase dramatically and/or for BDL to drop?

We've flown SW out of Islip (Long Island), PVD, and BDL. Islip was usually much cheaper (only discovered it a couple of years ago). When I booked our april trip last Oct the day fares opened, Bradley was the cheapest! I couldn't believe it.

PVD would be my first choice but it was too much this time.

Southwest is the only nonstop airline for PVD-MCO. Did you check out the $80 each way sale that's going on right now? I was able to snag a few flights for F&WF. It's rare that I fly Southwest these days, though. I've switched most of my flying to USAirways because they've frequently been cheaper than Southwest and I prefer its loyalty perks (I'm Silver Preferred, so I get 2 free checked bags and often get upgraded to first.) They're not nonstop, although occasionally their schedule will offer a direct (1-stop/no plane change) flight, but I don't mind changing planes because it earns me more miles.
