RFID and Annual Passes

Thanks....... I was afraid of that. We purchased our current passes at the Concierge desk at OKW last Feb. and got the plastic cards. I guess I'll check with the Concierge at GF when we're there next month. Since they seem to be rolling out almost everything with RFID, you would think they would do APs that way as well.

I thought you could only purchase AP's at a Guest Services location, not at a resort.
 
I guess I'm lucky because my annual pass isn't up for renewal until August. But even if it was up before then, the only thing that would deter me from renewing is making sure we'll be at Disney World enough times in the next 365 days to make it worth it.

Disney doesn't screw anyone with tickets. Call me stupid or whatever but I kinda trust Disney to make things right for their guests. They always have with me.

With the new system, I'm not sure if you can still purchase at a resort Concierge desk, but we were able to purchase our current ones at OKW last Feb. I'm pretty sure you have to go to a Guest Services location if you are activating a voucher.

I bought my AP last November (no voucher) and was told the only place I could purchase it was GS.
 
We purchased our PAPs through DVC in November and activated them when we were at WDW on 1/18/13...we were given the paper tickets and were told that we could probably update them sometime in early Spring to the newer cards....possibly April.
 
The future status of MyMagic+ for Annual Passes is still "up in the air". Nobody is sure what that looks like. This new program will most likely be in full swing within the next 365 days. And Disney does have the right to change the "advantages" of an annual pass without notice. Like they did with the merchandise discounts and the PAP.

OMG don't say Disney and doesn't have the right in the same sentence! These words were said by a poster on DCL's website about transferring a reservation policy change, and rather than concentrate on the point, a few "select" (to put it nicely) posters just jumped all over that comment.... unreal!:sad2:

One had all but two comments (posting history) on that one thread... all confrontational, then disclosed they were a TA.

I just appreciate all this info! I want to be up on all the ticket changs too!

I had 2 trips with my Annual Pass since the inception of the new system.. one of which was during the Busiest time of the year.. NYE... Have no fear.. you will not wait any longer on lines with your AP... not only is the old turnstile system still up.. but the CM's have handheld scanners that they are utilizing to speed up the entry into the parks. Remember.. the faster you get into the park.. the quicker you start spending! LOL!!! So.. I seriously doubt Disney would want to do anything to slow up our entry into the parks.
