RFC and the lunch voucher

So when you order it you say I want the Surf and Turf and I'd like that split in the kitchen and they automatically upgrade to a bigger steak at no cost? Then on top of that you get an appitizer and a side (salad?) 1 drink and you can get the volcano dessert too???

is that right LOL and when is lunch officially over? the latest you can get this for lunch?

Yes, you can ask for the surf and turf (they have several, tell them you want the stuffed lobster (1/2 lobster) and the primal steak (bigger than the others) that isn't on the menu. They bring it on one plate at RF-AK and bring an extra plate..we divide it.

You don't get a side as well with this, just the Q & C's that don't come with a side (I believe this comes with a fresh veggie..usually zuchinni stuff, and rice). You do get a drink (non alcholic) and an appetizer, as well as a dessert. But the Volanco can only be gotten if two people are using vouchers (not sharing) since it's meant for two. We often get teh banana foster which is too pieces and easily shareable.

The menu is the same all afternoon, so you can use your voucher for lunch or dinner. RF-AK closes rather early, since AK is it's only draw, and it closes early compared ot other parks.

okay I"m confused! this is NOT rain forest cafe at Downtown Disney? and it's the Q&C voucher you use this with for 11.50 NOT the 30$ lunch voucher?

It is the $30 voucher that is good at the Rain Forest Cafe. The location in Downtown DIsney is not listed on the back so it is only good at the Animal Kingdom location.

With the $30 voucher you get a non-alcoholic beverage, an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. You do not get an additional side, just whatever comes with your entree.

Hi Angela-

We're at WDW now and used the Vacation Kingdom lunches at AK Rainforest on Monday night. We made out like bandits! We used two vouchers for our family of four and had plenty of food.

My wife ordered the a shrimp cocktail ($9.99), 1 1/2 lb full stuffed lobster ($39.95), and iced tea. I ordered the fried calamari ($8.25), surf and turf ($39.95) - which was supposed to be a half stuffed lobster with a filet mignon but I substituted the larger NY strip instead, and a coke. We also ordered two child sodas for our kids. (I've read that you could even get smoothies as your non-alcoholic drink but we weren't in the mood for them.)

We both shared the Volcano (large brownie sundae) as our dessert. We didn't get to see the bill as we signed off the vouchers and never saw our waiter again. (It was very late, we got there at 6:45pm, just before their 7:00 pm closing. We finished dinner close to 8:30 pm but there were still plenty of people in the restaurant.) Even without our check, my mental math said we had a $140 meal that included tax and tip for only $60.00 - two vouchers!!!

The waiter was very happy to see the vouchers and went out of his way to reccommend the highest priced items (his tip is based on the final tab, even though it's not coming out of our pockets.)

You said you were at RFC in AK Monday night. What time was that? I thought AK always closes early--about 5-6 pm. Doesn't leave much time to do the park and have a sit-down meal, too. Did you just go to AK for the meal, or try to fit in a park visit also?

What type of voucher did you use--Connections? What are DVC vouchers?

Those are from Connections. AK closes at 5-6, so it looks loke they had an ideal reservation, right after park closing. I believe AK is a park you can complete in one day if you know what you want to see and if you time everything right. It also seems to be the hottest park to go to, so we try to break our visit there into two partial days. You can always use the vouchers at lunchtime, if you wish, or you can purchase AK's meal voucher, or a Q&C voucher. The latter two are about 11.50+, but you can only use them at counter service food places in AK. The one you get at AK gives you a combo meal & drink, along with an aditional beverage later and a popcorn or ice cream. The Q&C gives you a combo meal (or entree and side), a drink, and a desert. I hope I am correct in this info, as all of my knowledge comes from these boards. I have not even ordered my Connections vouchers yet!
