Just curious since I know some people love the Disney VISA, but what about Discover, AMEX, Citicard, etc. Which card do you use for rewards to help pay for Disney?

I used to use the Disney Card but now I changed to the Citibank dividends card. I commute 120 miles for work daily and get 5% on gas charges instead of the 1% Disney offers. When I get $50 I deposit that right into our vacation fund and use it only for Disney. :goodvibes

I use the aaa card, we get money towareds anything aaa sells. including admission tickets and our dues. also 3 percent off on gas.

I used to swear by discover card but they revamped how you earn money. You only get 1/4% for first $1500, then 1/2% on next $1500 then 1% after this $3000. They also only give 1/4% on purchases at warehouse stores like costco and bjs. The only good thing about it is after you have accumulated $20 you can request it as cash to use anyway you want. I still put everything on my discover but use my disney visa at bjs. My mother was using discover but has switched to AAA.

We use DH's amex and gather points. On our most recent trip these points paid for half of our airfare and we didn't even use them all. We also used these points when we stayed at a Mariott in Berlin Germany that was attached to a work trip. The hotel was brand new and NICE. We stayed for free for 3 nights. He has also traded points in for a Coach certificate and I got a great handbag for myself. :cool1:

Thx to this board, I use my Citibank card and get $300 cash back a year.
5% back on gas, supermarket, and drug store purchases. :flower:

I saw that Chase is now offering the same deal as Citi - a rewards card with 5% back on gas, groceries, and drugstores, up to $300 a year, with a $50 cash back on first purchase. There's a lot of fine print on the ad, of course, but it says something about 0% interest for 15 billing cycles if you qualify for "elite pricing". I have maxed out my citi rewards and am considering this but have not finished researching it yet.

I have a Starwood Preferred American Express card that I use to rack up points towards free stays at Sheraton, Four Points and other hotels, and the Disney Visa that I just got.

Starwood Amex gave me something like 6000 free points when i first got it and I get one point per dollar each month. Plus, I work as a conference coordinator and get points on it from that too. Right now i have 40,000 points towards Sheraton stays, so that next time I go on vacation, I wont have to pay for the hotel! :)

So now that I have quite a bit stored up, I am switching everything to the Disney Visa to earn Reward Dollars too ...

I don't have a Citibank because I closed my account with them last year after they changed things around and made the account worthless after I had been a customer of their for almost 15 years. I figured that if they didn't care about loyalty, then neither would I.

just got the citibank diamond rewards card. 5 pts for every dollar on gas groceries and drugstore items, 1 point per dollar for everything else. We charge everything we can and pay the entire bill off each month. We'll rack up as many point as we can and use for dining, hotels, etc. It's a great card for rewards and came very highly rated on credit card rewards boards. I would have done the starwood amex but so mnay of the places I would use it do not accept amex that I didn't think it would be a good deal for us.

just bumping this up as I think its a really great thread and I would like some more opinions :)

Thanks :)
Robin

I have the Dividend card. Is there a list of approved drugstores/grocery stores? I'm afraid I wont get the 5% back! Is Walgreens considered a drugstore?

What about local grocery stores? Here we have Hyvee, Super Saver, and Super Walmart. How do I know if those will be "counted" as a grocery store?
