Thinking of trying this in Nov any comments either positive or negative would be appreciated

My DH and DS (11) and I were there on Sat. July, 12. We had PS at 'OHANA that night. After taking a cab to the Poly and checking in I could tell my DH wasn't that impressed. The lobby was very busy and extremely loud. He talked us into leaving and going somewhere on the boardwalk instead. We ended up at the Flying Fish. I was pouting because I really wanted to try 'OHANA, so I wasn't in the best frame of mind. We walked in about 8:30 pm and was able to get a table immediately. The place is beautiful and has an awesome view of the chefs working the grills! This turned out being my favorite meal the whole week! The food was super. I am so glad we ended up there on a whim! A good lesson to go with the flow at Disney and something good will always happen!

2 words come to mind- awesome, expensive! Really good food.

Not impressed. I've eaten there two times. The first time with my hubby thought it might have been a fluke. Second time was with a group. Not worth the money. Things were over cooked. Just not impressive at all! I'd much rather go to Spoodles or Calif Grill than FF.

Our family (mom, dad, 10-12 yr old son) have eaten at Flying Fish twice, on two different trips. Food was excellent both times; much better the first time tho'. Service was excellent and worthy of an expensive restaurant the first time, but the 2nd time, our server was more of the local coffee shop variety which was not appropriate considering the upscale type of restaurant and upscale price. Not sure if we'll go there again on our upcoming trip; am thinking probably not.

We've eaten there the last 4 years. Once we were the last group to be sat before closing; we still received excellent service and food. This is our personal favorite. Unfortunately, it only takes one bad experience at a restaurant to taint your view. So I always take the restaurant reviews with a grain of salt unless I start seeing a consistent pattern.

You can perform a search on the Flying Fish and see what patterns there have been on this site. Just a warning. If the site is very busy, the search function is disabled. I usually will try it early in the am or late at night.....

Generally I would not object to spending $30 on a piece of fish, assuming that I thought said piece of fish was worth $30. I thought the fish I had at Flying Fish was good, but it just was not a $30 piece of fish.

We ate there for the first time in June and enjoyed our meal. That said, we enjoyed California Grill & Hollywood Brown Derby more. But, I'll definately go back sometime.

After our third meal there this is a must do for us. I would get PS. some days you can walk right in and some days you can't get in till 10:00pm.

On our last trip it was not that crowded (very heavy rain). Servers can be talkative but that is what i like when i am at the world.

We have eaten 3 times and love this restaurant. We have always had great service. 2 times had 2 servers and the last had 3 servers. It is a lot like the DCL. One server was the main person that took the order and one would fill drinks before you needed to ask for more. (I love that part).

I am not much of a fish eater but it is good there. DW likes the steake. It is black of the outside and cooked the way you want it on the inside.

On the last trip I made a point to stop by the show kitchen to tell the guys cooking how much I loved the food.

I've only eaten there once, and was very disappointed. I have thus far been unable to convince myself to go back for a second try. I really enjoy the other "upscale" restaurants, but my food was "eh," the service fair at best, and overall it just wasn't worth the money. (Not a budget issue - I don't have any problem paying $75 for dinner for just me at the CG, but the cost/benefit isn't there for me at FF.)

we didn't like it either. bad service and our food was overcooked.
