1. Okay, I made it through the whole thread of disturbing images in the resort bedspread issue. Several people commented that when they arrived, they would personally wash their room's bedspread in the hotel's laundry room---would they really fit or do they need an "industrial" size washing machine?

2. If you requested a new bedspread, would they really get one for you?

Gee, I kind of liked it when I naively throught the bedspreads WERE washed between guests!

I remember reading a thread about people requesting a special top sheet and blanket. It's kind of like a duvet. The name escapes me. It's supposed to be much cleaner.

Maybe someone else will remember. I'm interested too. Next time, I'd like to request one.

They have a bigger one at Pop, I noticed last time I was there. I never thought of that. I'd really rather not think about it at all. After all, I have no idea what people did on the rug either, and I have to walk on it. And the chair, OM goodness..do I have to sit on it? And the tub..geesh, what do people do in the tub? I might have to go back to lugging the RV down there, if I can't just ignore this new thread.

Here, here! :rotfl2: Wish I hadn't read the ENTIRE other thread!!!

Also, I've noticed that you're at WDW fairly frequently...do you have any opinions on POR (Mansions) or SSR? We've always stayed at WL/VWL, so both will be a first for us!

I can't believe someone would try to wash a bedspread in a hotel. A blanket I could see but not a bedspread, they are so big to wash.

Apparently the housekeeping staff at most hotels agree with this and don't bother washing bedspreads either :rotfl2:

Yes they will bring you a fresh one if you ask. :)
A lot easier than washing it yourself!!!! And who wants to do that?????

But how do you know if it's actually a clean one? Whatever detergent they use must not have a scent because I've never had sheets "smell" clean to me in a hotel.

I think it is one thing to keep the same bedspread on the bed.. I think it is another thing to ask for a fresh one and have them not give you one. I do NOT think they have dirty ones laying around that they would bring you.
I have seen Mousekeeping going down the hall with folded, fresh bedspreads. I'm sure they are wahsed and clean. ;)

On my last stay at POP Century we checked in and one of the members of my party laid down on the spread. She hopped up right away because the bed was sticky. The last people apparently had lollipops and stuck them on the bedspread. Mousekeeping never saw them and made the bed with these sticky bedspreads.
I called and asked for the beds to be changed. Boy were the mouskeepers angry. They said there was nothing wrong with the sheets and blankets and they would just change the spread. I told them I wanted everything changed and they mouthed off again.
So I stripped the sheets off the bed and threw them on the floor and told Mousekeeping "Now they are dirty"
They changed the beds but who knows what they did the next time they came in my room.
I really think that every room should have all blankets spreads etc changed when the person checks out of the room. I wouldn't want to use someone elses towel and they are used to dry off water from a clean body, I certainly don't want to sleep with someone elses bedspread. Peggie
