Revisiting an Older Image

A few years back I took a nighttime image of the China pavilion. While doing some file reorganization, I decided to re-process it. In that process, I re-did the white balance (another reason to keep your RAW files) and did a few other enhancements. I would like your input and evaluation of which image is the better. Thanks for looking (and you don't have to be kind!:)).

Terry, I like the second one better. The first one's just a tad too yellow. Too bad that light's burned out on the building. That stuff just drives me crazy. I have a symmetrical shot in Epcot with a light out on one side. That's my OCD talking.lol

Thanks, I never noticed the missing light!

I prefer the second version also, it takes the sky from a kind of blah grey to a nice evening shade of blue. I looks like you also brightened some of the details on the building which helps to bring them out more. Good work!

As the RAW converters improve I have gone back to revisit some older images and found more range and detail, one more reason to use RAW and to always keep them!

Second... Prefer the blue-black sky to the gray sky. And the more vibrant blues throughout.

I like the second one better as well. It just looks like it was processed a little bit better overall... contrast, color, etc.

I tend to agree, although I usually prefer warmer tones, so I like the warmth of the lights in the first one. But the sky tips the balance in favor of #2 for me.

Thanks everyone for your input. I liked the second also, but sometimes I'm too close to make a determination. It really does help to keep the RAW files. As software and one's skills improve its fun to go back and make images better. Again thanks for looking and taking the time to comment.

I concur with everyone else. I love the tones of the second shot. :thumbsup2

I sure wish I had some shots from our early visits to Disney in RAW.

I agree with everyone that the second "blue" one is truer to the temple in Orlando.

I went back and looked at an image from the temple in China and the first one may be closer to being acurate

I still find it hard to believe I was there!

My DD spent some time in China and these were hers:
