I received this email from DCL on a tour we are doing in St Thomas, can anyone see the difference from this to the old one we originally booked? Maybe some of you fellow cruisers remember doing this but I can't see what's different. Thanks

Dear

Thank you for booking a Disney Cruise Line vacation! We are delighted you will be joining us onboard the Disney Fantasy!

Our records indicate that you have pre-reserved the St. Thomas Island Tour and Shopping (ST-11) Port Adventure in St. Thomas. We are reaching out to Guests on this tour to let them know that there has recently been a change in the description of this experience. Below is a revised description for your records.

A Duty-Free Shopper's Paradise
Shopportunities galore are in store at Mountain Top, the scenic lookout, and in downtown Charlotte Amalie.
On this adventure, you will ...

* Board an open-air safari taxi and take in the unspoiled splendor of the island.
* Travel to world-famous Mountain Top, a panoramic lookout 2,100 feet above sea level. See more than 20 different islands from this elevated vantage point, enjoy duty-free souvenir shopping and try one of their signature banana daiquiris, at your own expense.
Please note: Guests wishing to be dropped off downtown will be responsible for their own transportation back to the ship, at their own expense.

Should you wish to pre-reserve another Port Adventure experience in St. Thomas, please visit the My Cruise Activity section of our website at www.Disneycruise.com or visit the Port Adventures desk once onboard.

Thank you for sailing with us and have a magical day!

Sincerely,

We had something similar happen with our Cozumel excursion. Best I could tell it was just a change in the wording of the description. Not a material change in the activity. Almost like they were updating descriptions and the notice was triggered. I took it as a CYA kind of deal. To head off someone complaining “When I booked this you said ‘exciting adventure’ and now it is a ‘meaningful activity,’ that is not what I signed up for.”

That's probably it. Thanks

I also have this question. Is the vehicle different or is it the same vehicle as the original adventure? Was there a picture in the Gallery photos before showing an enclosed air-conditioned vehicle? I’m concerned because I might have selected this knowing that my father was able to make it into the vehicle they showed in the photos. I don’t remember a “open air Safari taxi” qualification in the description before. That doesn’t sound like something my father would’ve been able to get in.

No idea, but I find it interesting that as they updated the description, they didn’t remove the option to be dropped off downtown entirely. It was made very clear on our St Thomas excursion a couple weeks ago that if we didn’t return to the ship and embark WITH the group, we would have to quarantine.
