Reviews of values freaked me out!

I personally do not care for the Values because of the over the top icons and theming. BUT, I cannot complain about the cleanliness of the room. It was very clean and that is very important to me. So if that is your main criteria, I wouldn't worry at all. My friend and I stayed at Pop for Free Dining last year. After I added up our dining receipts, Disney actually paid us to stay there. Can't complain about that.

Read the reviews on this site. The DISers won't steer you wrong. ... Forget the general hotel review sites.

I am sorry I do not necessarily agree with this statement. When I saw the title of this thread I knew there would be two pages of "oh no, they are wrong the values are the best!" I tend to think that disers are bias to disney and don't always see the hotels there as an average guest who is not in love with Disney would. Our first experience at Disney was in a value and I am sorry I noticed a difference. It is clean for the most part but definatly not all they say it is. I found the reviews on the hotel sites to be pretty accurate at most hotels including Disney. However you always have to weed out that sometimes it is an isolated incident and sometimes it is not. The values are clean for the most part so i think you should be fine if that is where you have your heart on staying.

Never having stayed at a value resort before, I'm also a bit nervous about our upcoming trip. I've read good and bad reviews. I'm going with an open mind though.

There are some people that are very hard to please and will find always something to complain about. I'm not one of those people. We stayed at POP two years ago and we loved it. Our room was clean and quiet. We had a working air conditioner and the beds were comfy. The grounds were landscaped great and the pool area's were nice. The bus service was good and we only had to wait 1 night when the MK closed for a bus, no big deal.

It's great to her reviews, but, I tend not to listen to alot of the rants and raves because some people are hard to please. I think we put so much time and effort into planning our vacations that when 1 thing goes wrong it seems monumental.

And LOVED it. Very pleasantly surprised. The food court and gift shop was awesome. There is a fridge of cold items in the back if you don't want to run in the food court. Although it's not a problem and alot of variety.

The rooms were clean and cleaned every single day. The grounds were alot nicer than I thought they would be! We overlooked a pine grove that was lovely.

The pools were fun too.

There are bad reviews on every resort I've ever researched from value to deluxe. I've read some very bad ones in all three areas.

What is a negative to one is not to another.

Things like bad mousekeeping and rude cm's can happen anywhere (and do).

The CM's at ASMo were great. There was a HUGE mix-up in our reservation and they worked the problem immediately and to our satisfaction. Our dining credits kept getting used and mixed up at the restaurants and the concierge at ASMo fixed it immediately.

Our kids LOVED the resort. LOVED it. We wanted them to have a good time and it was better than we thought it could ever be.

Thanks to all of you again! I will just be so excited to be back at Disney when we go that I don't think that I care if we stay at a value. If it is the only way that we can go, then book me at a value! We will have a blast no matter what. We stayed at POFQ last trip and I guess that is part of my worry. I can only compare it to a moderate. Like I said though we will have a wonderful trip no matter where we stay!

We've only stayed onsite once, at ASMu. It was great! We were very surprised at how comfortable the beds were, and this was before refurbishment (2004).

We are staying at Pop for the 1st time next week...looking forward to it!

We've ONLY stayed at the Values, each as they were being built, and will tell you that even though we could afford to go elsewhere, we cannot break away from our beloved ASMo The level of cleanliness is outstanding--everything is spotless, even the restrooms in the food court building. I always see mousekeeping about even if it is 1am. With the smoking ban, this summer the grounds were 100% better than past years, but that was due mainly to the rudeness of guests and not disposing of their trash or butts correctly.You don't mention what the website was, but stick with us DISsers--we won't steer you wrong Back to ASMo in June 08
